Willow was bored.
Willow was bored and Aoife was sick. It was never a good combination of things to be happening, to be honest. When Willow was bored she did silly things to entertain herself. Though it was never as bad as when Aoife was bored because her twin was the far more adventurous one, and tended to do things that might get the pair of them in trouble with Daddy and those that were supposed to be guarding them. Not that they could ever keep up with either girl but they were supposed to and they tried very hard.
The girls were just tiny and found it easy to slip in and out of places that the guards couldn’t get to. It wasn’t really their fault which was likely why they never ended up getting in trouble for losing the pair of them. But either way, the girls often got themselves in trouble, but this time it was just Willow. Which meant that it would never be anything too bad, Willow wasn’t the trouble maker out of the pair, but it was never good news for her guards.
Lucky for them, Willow was feeling more easy going today and didn’t really plan anything too wild. She had curled up with Aoife for the earlier part of the night, cuddled up to her twin in bed, while they watched Disney movies. They watched a few of Aoife’s favorites, and then they watched one of Willows! Which Willow was happy about. She would have been happy to keep watching her sister’s favorites because she was sick but Aoife had suggested, slyly, that they watch Alice in Wonderland. Which made Willow pretty happy! She had grinned and cuddled up to her twin as they had watched.
She had then gotten bored of watching movies and Aoife had gone to bed. So Willow had dressed up in her Alice in Wonderland costume. Why? Because she wanted to! She had just seen the movie so it was fresh in her mind and she thought it would be fun to do so. So she did. She pulled on the pretty blue dress and pinafore and then ran a brush through her silky blond hair which never really needed a brush anyway because it rarely tangled up.
And then she pushed a black headband with a pretty black bow through the strands to hold it off of her hair and tucked her feet into black mary janes. She really did look like Alice in Wonderland, she thought. It was pretty easy to, being that she was tiny and blonde. The only difference was that she didn’t have a white rabbit, or a tiny black cat, or even a caterpillar. She had Char though! Willow plucked up Prince Charming, her scardy cat ferret and tucked him onto her shoulder.
With that, she took one last glance over at her sleeping sister and sighed softly. She missed her sister being able to adventure with her. She shook her head and left the room she shared with her sister, no longer feeling too adventurous or mischievous as she had before. Mostly because she had to leave her sister behind. She didn’t even care if her guards followed her if that was saying something. She didn’t turn to see if they did, she simply left the Citadel. They didn’t stop her if they were, so that was a start for her. She skipped down the street, catching people looking at her and smiling and she waved, her grin returning now that she was out and distracted.
She wanted sweets and she knew just where she was going to get them! She had a favorite place for these sorts of things and she thought the café was pretty cute and the people that worked there were always nice to her so she enjoyed that. She slipped in and pointed at the things under the glass that she wanted, beaming at the woman behind the counter who chuckled and refused to take Willow’s crumpled up money, saying that her father’s people always paid them back for what Willow got, so she was fine.
That just made her beam more and skip over, in her Alice garb, to take a seat in a booth, the guards that did indeed follow her taking another table, leaving Willow by herself. She plopped her sketchpad up on the table, intending to draw but instead her eyes went out the window. She was getting sad always being on her own without her twin. She hoped she would get better soon….none of the other kids her age played with her much, Willow didn’t get why. She just wanted a friend, that was all.
