If someone had told Callum MacIntyre that someday vampires were going to take over the world and make the human race their bitch, well, he likely would have laughed and watched that person be carted off to the nut house. It seemed insane, utterly insane. And he had lived long enough to have a full life before that insanity came to be the truth and the old world was what seemed insane, seemed like a dream really in some respects. He could still remember when it first hit, how he was just over here studying abroad. And then bam, suddenly he can’t get back home.
And suddenly the vampires of the myths are all too real. He could tell from the start that things were not going to end well .They were freaking vampires, how could that mean it would end well for the humans who were definitely not as strong and slowly becoming not as many? He knew it was a lost cause. That was why he surrendered himself when he could, without much of a care. Mac was an easy going guy, he always took the loose and free road in life, and he had no intention of having to see that cut short.
Oh no, he didn’t much mind the current life that he lived. After being tossed around from place to place, for this reason or that, the Scottish man ended up working for a club. Oh that’s right, not just one specific person but a whole damn club. It wasn’t something that most of the pets around this joint could boast, stuck to one person and running fucking errands all day, but he was able to have a hell of a lot more freedom in his day, as far as he could count the word freedom for his species.
And hell, if he was going to be honest, he also got a lot more sex out of it too. So what if it came with getting bitten, the bite only added to the high. He didn’t much mind that, he could live with it and he had been for a good ten years or so now. He liked his current gig, it was pretty sweet. It also meant he could live on his own in an apartment complex just off of the club, rather than with one specific person. Really made him feel like he was still living his own life, and the easy life at that.
Take tonight for example, tonight he was working. Though, what he did, it never really felt like working. How could it with what he did? All he had to do was sit pretty and entertain the women that came by him. And that was something he always had enjoyed doing, keeping the females in his life happy. He had had a few of the regular customers that he had happily taken over to some of the more private areas of the club—or he supposed one could say that they took him in the spirit of the world that they now lived in, not that he really cared either way—and they had their fun for a little bit, or rather, for a long while.
Now, now he had gotten a drink and was taking a moment to sit at the bar, turned towards the crowd. They all looked like they were just having fun dancing and didn’t need a moment for little old him. He took a moment to straighten up the collar of his black shirt, readjusting it from where it had gotten, perhaps, a little bit disheveled in the last hour or so he had spent with the lovely blond that was now swinging her hips on the dance floor and he was now debating joining her once more. He wasn’t a neat sort of person, he didn’t much care for looks and clothes and what he was wearing even though he knew he had great ones, but he did like to keep this job. And for that, he had to keep up the appearances. He kept up the dress code of this place, because it was one of the best gigs he had had in a while.
He was sitting at the bar, with his drink, when he noticed something. Something by the way of Miss Anya, it appeared, was on the floor. Not that he didn’t expect her to be on the floor of her own club, it just often appeared that she wasn’t when he was around. For all that he had been working for her club, owned by it some would say, for a few years now, they hadn’t met face to face all that often. And that was a damn shame, a damn shame indeed.
Because looking her over, she was gorgeous. She knew it too, there was confidence in that walk and he didn’t try to hide that he appreciated it. She was beautiful, she was confident, and he would love to make her happy in the way that it appeared these days he did best. It just didn’t appear that that was in the cards for him just yet. But perhaps soon it would be, not that he thought she was coming over his way, just to the bar. He still studied her with those blue eyes of his as he took a long swig of the drink in his hand. Perhaps one of these days, perhaps soon.
Because damn, he would absolutely love to get her out of those dresses she was always wearing. He shook his head. And now he would have that image in his head all day. Oh well, perhaps he could dispel it, and the fact that it seemed unlikely to happen, by actually doing his job. Maybe.

Perfect thick black lashes framed beautiful eyes as Anya Taylor stood in front of the mirror inside her office inside of her club. Her club was in full swing she could hear it below her feet. She itched to join them. She had done her work for the evening, priding herself on finishing it all. She usually got so distracted by the people coming alive right under her feet that she didn't finish and she went downstairs. She was a business woman, she knew what she had to do but that didn't mean that she didn't get distracted.
It didn't matter, tonight she could get distracted all she wanted. Which was precisely why she didn't even have to worry about anything. She was instead of just primping herself up to make sure she looked perfect to go out on the dance floor. She was doing a splendid job if she did say so herself. She was wearing a tight black dress, it was heart shaped and had no straps. It looked wonderful on her. Anya never bought anything that wouldn't look good on her so the fact that it looked perfect was no surprise. Her hair was straight and out and flowing. She had on simple diamond earrings and a diamond pendant. She looked classy, but at the same time with the strappy black heels she had on she looked like she was ready to party and she was.
She left her office and she locked the door quickly slipping the key into the discreet pocket she had on the of the dress. She was feeling electricity flow into her as she got closer and closer to the music. She had spent so much time lately, just sitting around thinking of things that she didn't need to think about and dwelling on the past that getting out and getting lost on the dance floor or getting lost in a stranger sounded like an amazing idea. It wasn't like she had any friends she could turn to and ask to go out with her. Not that she was looking for any, Anya didn't like company that didn't come in the shape of something warm to lay beneath her. She didn't like women and that pretty much meant no friends. She didn't have any male friends to speak of. She didn't view them in such a manner.
Here she was thinking again, wasn't it about time she became lost in something other than thought? She thought so. She opened the doors to the dance floor and closed her eyes welcoming the wave of things that came at her at once. The beautiful sound of the music, the wonderful feeling of the heat of the bodies dancing around her, the lights flashing around and illuminating faces.
She noticed people in the crowd looking at her and it only made her smirk. She loved the way that they looked at her. She couldn't be too sure why they were looking though. She figured that some of them knew that she was the owner of this club and that she was there. Others may have just been looking at her because of her outstanding beauty and charisma that showed through with every step that she took as she moved more into the dance floor. She grinned, it was probably a little bit of both for a lot of the people. Anya welcomed the attention. She wanted people to be envious of her, she wanted people to stare at her and want her because most of them would never have the pleasure of ever having her, let alone be close enough to her to breathe her air.
She walked out to the middle of the dance floor and she let the music take over her, she could feel the beat inside of her body and she wanted to lose herself into it. So she did, she swayed her hips and she danced and she shooed away any partner that tried to approach her.
She opened her eyes and looked out as she danced and she noticed someone watching her from the bar. She smirked a little bit. There had been a whole bunch of people watching her that night. For some reason though, this person was sticking out to her, she didn't know if she knew him from somewhere or if he was just incredibly good looking and she wanted to do things she couldn't do in public too him, she wasn't sure but she definitely wanted to find out. That was for sure.
She danced her way over to the bar, pretending that she hadn't really been paying attention to him but sidled up next to him anyway. She felt adrenaline rush through her and she knew that this was going to be great.
She knew he had to be looking at her, so ignoring the feeling she had about knowing him from somewhere she turned towards him and just gave him a little sexy smile before speaking "So...you just gonna stand there or are you gonna offer to buy me a drink?"she grinned a little and looked over at him. She was itching for some fun tonight.

Anya Taylor. The owner of this place, she walked around like it was her own personal domain and she was the queen of her castle. Oh Mac didn’t mind, hell no. In fact, her confidence just made her hotter in his book. Some people, he knew, couldn’t stand when a chick was cocky, it put them off. Mac, he just thought it made things easier. Why waste time telling a chick how gorgeous she was when she was just going to deny it? Especially when she already knew that she was and was just trying to be proper?
At least a confident chick, they’d tell you they knew.
And that would be the end of that, so to speak, and then they could get on to more fun things. Damn he’d love to get on to more fun things with that woman. He had had most of those that littered this place—it was practically his job and he had a feeling not all of them came to him because he was a portable blood bag but hey, maybe he was just being cocky himself. But he hadn’t had that one and that was one that he would love to get to know a little better, so to speak.
Unfortunately, so far, it was not happening. He had been working for her club, bought off his last “employer,” a few years ago now. They had had a few encounters but he was fairly certain she hadn’t been looking too hard, just doing her thing and moving on to the next stop. He didn’t think that this time would be any different, though. Why would it be? It didn’t stop him from stopping thinking about chasing the perky little blond with the fine ass for a moment to check her out instead though. Oh no, he could do that all he liked. What were they going to do, fire him? He had a feeling she enjoyed the attention anyway.
He smirked to himself and took another long gulp of his drink. Most people shouldn’t drink on the job but being that no one told him no, or charged him, or stopped him, he didn’t see why he shouldn’t enjoy as many perks as he could possibly find. He enjoyed the amount of perks this place had his way too, it kept things interesting and kept them fun. Moving forward, so to speak.
Other things, or should he say beauties, also seemed to be moving forward—which he didn’t quite expect. But he was never the sort to look a gift horse in the mouth. Despite what some might say about him behind his back, or hell even to his face, he was not a stupid man. He liked to think he was pretty damn intelligent in fact. He just knew when to play his hand and when it was time to coast the waters, not bothering to rock the boat. And lately it had been all smooth sailing. He hoped that streak continued when Anya was suddenly by his side.
She gave him a grin and asked if she would buy him a drink. Well then, she definitely didn’t realize that she was his boss, the one he worked for, and that technically he couldn’t get himself a drink if the bar didn’t give it to him. And he most certainly was not going to be the one to burst that bubble if she didn’t figure it out. Instead he grinned, offering a sly little smile as he leaned against the bar. ”I didn’t want to insult you by treating you like any other woman” he said, all flattery.
And thick Scottish accent but that was something that he hadn’t lost, even through being here for a very long time now. Nearly ten years. But some things just wouldn’t fade and he hoped that they never would. He missed his home country a lot, if he were going to be honest. There was no other place like it, nothing. Not even America had anything on it in his books. So he wanted to keep that one last reminder of the home land that he had left behind, one last sentimental thing.
And, of course, it didn’t hurt that the ladies never seemed to mind it too much. Oh the opposite in fact and he knew it.
He grinned, a sly look in those blue eyes of his as well as on his lips and tipped his head her way, as if tipping an imaginary hat. ”Plus, I’m fairly sure the owner of this place could get whatever she wanted” he teased, unable to help himself. He also wanted to show his hand a little, let her know that he knew who she was, let her play the power card if it entertained her because he didn’t mind too much.
He was just surprised she was over here with him, and he was not going to be doing anything to change that, not in the near future. Not if he had his way, or his saying in the matter thank you very much. It was something he wanted to keep going. And he would use whatever he could to his advantage to keep it thusly. She was a gorgeous and confident woman, and that was sexy, so what could he say? He just lived to please these days.
