The ones that were more than eager to turn to him to rid themselves of their problems. Which was why he was in this particular city in the first place. Most of the greedy rich snobs lived here, including the Monarch, and it wasn't uncommon for him to be busy most days, whether it was because he was working on a hit, or because he was doing something a little more legal than that. Velius had followed the demands of his profession as the years progressed, as the war started, grew, and then inevitably ended. Velius had played his part in the war, not that many knew that. He was a killer who kept himself quiet. He couldn't, however, help the whispered rumors of himself, the reputation his name eventually gained. Of course, those that knew of the dark world of assassins would know of him, the rest of the public was blissfully unaware.
Which meant he didn't have to hide from the authorities, or worry about being found out. Most of his business transactions were made with up tight and rich people who didn't want their dirty laundry aired by the exposing of his profession. Most times that would only serve to incriminate them, and cause them to lose their beloved social status. No, Velius was rather confident and assured that his wrong-doings, in the societies eyes, were kept a well-guarded secret. The man's face twisted into a grimace, lips pulling down as his teeth clenched. Carefully his hand clasped the top half of the tiger cubs jaw, prying the sharp little teeth from his other hand. His dark eyes flickered down to the freed hand, taking in the small pin-prick marks left by the cubs teeth. He studied it for a moment before disregarding the slight red marks in favor of scooping the cub up in his arms.
Velius didn't particularly mind the pain, he'd had far worse than a cubs over excited bite, but he was reluctant to let Labros get into the habit of chewing on him. Especially when his teeth grew to proportions that would indeed hurt with just a bit of pressure applied to a bite. He hefted the cub up by the scruff of his neck, before plopping him onto his lap. The cub immediately rolled over, reaching to bat at Vel's hand with large paws, even for a young cub. Velius realized that Labros would grow to be a very large cat, and most big cats weren't able to be tamed fully. He would still be savage if he wanted too. But unlike most people who wanted exotic pets just to have them, Velius was prepared and able to stop Labros if he needed too. Labros was just a cub yet, and therefore he wouldn't quite have to worry about the natural instincts he would surely harbor.
Velius was in a rare mood today, complacent and content to sit around and play with the cub in such a public place. While not an extremely stoic or serious man, he didn't have a habit of laying around in the park playing with his pets. His reason for coming to the park that day? Well he had a few things to really think about now. Someone had approached him, as was usual, inquiring about his talents, wanting to hire him. Velius hardly ever accepted a hit without full details and a payment of at least half of what was offered. When told what his hit would be he had gone silent, old memories surfacing, both dark and terrible. His client wanted him to kill the Monarch. He had known Laevinus in his past, the man was the one to kill him after all. The sum was a hefty one, and it included a few very shiny trinkets his mind had already clung too.
Whether he would take the job and kill the Monarch was something he couldn't answer yes or no too right away. Oh no, this hit took a bit of thought. Not only was Laevinus a bit of a friend, or he had been, he was also a dangerous target. Vel had been killed once by the other man, and while there had been two thousand years for him to improve upon his fighting abilities, it didn't deter the thought that there wasn't a reason Laevinus couldn't do it again. His lips tugged into a bit of a smile as Labros' paws caught his hand, cub teeth nipping at his fingers once more. He would have to think on it.

Once more she had found a sucker that she easily bribed into taking her out of the academy, How easily it was to use her body or her money. Men, regardless of age and stature admired money, It was simply logic. To be the biggest and baddest you would have to be either the richest, or the toughest.. Unless you had the title such as Monarch. She rolled her eyes at the thought, not really hating the man.. Just, Thinking it a useless title. A useless title and a useless occupation, And they surely could have done better in her opinion. Shrugging off her thoughts she turned back to the male that had occopanied her for the evening, flashing him a bit of her smirk before turning and shaking her bottom deliberately. Sure, many had beliefs that this girl would go nowhere, But it was funny how she just kept right on track and moving. She was wild, she was free.. Her parents where back at home, and they seemed to be happy now that they did not have to be the sole people to look after and guide her nightly.
She laughed a dark and sinister laugh as she lifted a hand and brought back a few loose strands of hair that had fallen across her shoulder. She rarely ever wore her hair up you see, No that would look silly and absurd after all. Instead she now walked the night with her blonde hair twirling around in the breeze and occasionally swishing back into the fellows face behind herself. Turning down a road she glanced a seconds glance back at the man behind her, Admiring his form from a far. He was a handsome fellow standing at six foot tall with black hair that was spikey atop his head. His muscles would be more than enough to keep her safe, or to comfort her.. Had she ever the notion to give him the time of night. Surely she had teased him back at the academy, made empty promises of ever sweet passion to be made later.
Turning swiftly she caught sight of a park, her nose catching the scent of another vampire in front of herself a short distance away.. She knew not what sort of vampire, But he certainly did not have the sweet smell that a mortal man would hold. No, this man smelled like most other vampires smelled, Which barely made a dent on her radar. She waved a hand to stop the man behind herself as she approached where the man stood, stopping just five feet away and speaking with an ever soft voice, almost a sing song whisper, "Beautiful animal you have there, Cub is it not?" With that she said no more, simply stood her distance, Would the man speak back in return she would speak again. Until then however, she would let her eyes and ears as well as other senses take in different details about the man.
Adelaide was not one to know about assassins, and in such she had no fear of the man that she was now standing around. In fact, she feared no one and doubted that she would ever fear anyone! She was both crazy and over logical on this note, as well as incorrect. Everyone had a danger, and this man before her, Well he had a bounty set upon killing her mother. He would of course eventually reckognize her, maybe even know her face. But for now, Just for that initial moment she had no idea what, or who the man was before herself, and she intended to know him. After all, this man was alone in a park with a cub, a beautiful one at that.. She was envious, Her parents had never bought her a pet before.. She now saw something she wanted, and she would learn more about them in one way or another.
Inching closer she got within the initial three feet away from the man and the cub and then stopped. She did not want to frighten the cub, nor did she want to frighten the man. It was dangerous to have an animal turn on you, and in that logic she knew that until she was acknowledged that this was as close to them as she could get. Crossing her arms over her chest she checked her head back, glancing at her companion to make sure he was there. Upon a satisfactory glance she turned back to the man and spoke again, "My name is Adélaïde Rousseau, I wish a moment of your time sir.. Granted that you would sustain a moment for a lady." With that she corrected her posture, holding her head high and smiling ever so warmly. She was wearing a beautiful dark dress, the top being a corset and showing her breasts nicely. In fact the leather corset clung to them and brought them forward, making her look quite elegant accompanied by the flowing Red dress that showered down her body and curves. Her shoes were leather as well, of which went up her nicely shaped legs and stopping at her thighs. She was stunning to glance upon, especially upon the first glance.

He'd always had a fascination for the big cats, where his familiar stemmed from he was sure, and he'd always had one laying around his spacious home at one point or another. The last one had been a few years before the war, a good sized lioness who'd decided to take it upon herself to try and take a chunk out of him. He'd ended the feline's life without a second pause. Soft spots for the big cats would only bring about his death and while he very much enjoyed having them around, he wasn't unwilling to end their life to save his own. He had idly thought about getting another feline when the war took it's presence in his mind, focusing him on the task of killing rather than the pleasures of having a big cat sprawled out in his living room, eager for attention from him.
He hadn't had the cub for long, a few weeks at most, and he certainly was appreciative of the small joy that the cub provided. Of course it was a dulled joy, as Velius' capacity to feel had long been shriveled up and left to dry in the heat of a long burning memory that plagued his dreams at night. A memory filled with smoke, flame, and the cries of the weak, of the dying. His eyes blinked as he pulled himself out of that rather dark spot. He wouldn't go there, wouldn't allow his mind to wander to what he considered was dead and gone. Besides, Labros had once again gotten his little teeth hooked into Velius' hand, causing the dark haired man to chuckle, his other hand gripping the cubs top jaw once more to pry the teeth from his hand. This time the cub had drawn blood, but Velius merely raised his hand to his mouth, his tongue sweeping over the marks, his saliva doing it's job of healing the slight wounds.
He had noticed her approach, never ignorant of his surroundings, but she was of little interest to him while he had the cub wriggling around in his lap. But as she came closer recognition was immediate. Velius did not forget faces of his victims, or those that were close to his victims. This woman, nay girl, was the daughter of a hit. He was planning on getting this particular hit done and over with as soon as he could, as he had more pressing matters. He needed to decide if his long ago loyalty (or what he considered loyalty) to the man who killed him was still strong enough to deny the hit, and the money. It was uncommon, but not anything new, to have a hit, or someone close to his mark, bump into him. He didn't try to avoid them, and being that he was very much comfortable in the public, there was a likely hood that he would indeed run into those that he was suppose to kill.
His eyes raked over her for a moment, assessing the girl and her state of dress, before dark eyes flickered behind her to the man who trailed after her like a good little puppy. Pathetic. Her words had him raising an eyebrow, eyes flickering down to the orange and black ball of fur in his lap before a bored expression crossed his face and he turned his attention back to the girl. "It would appear to be so." His words had a hint of sarcasm lacing him as he lounged in his spot, sprawled out on the grass with the cub rolling around on his lap, still trying to sink his teeth into Velius' flesh once more. The girl dressed like a woman. That was Velius' immediate reaction to the rather elegant dress that willingly showed the curves the girl was growing into. He knew her to be young yet, and if he hadn't been looking into her information he wouldn't have been completely sure just how young.
But knowing she was yet a fledgling gave him a clue as to why the man was trailing behind her like a dog. Because she needed an adult with her. Needed to be babysat lest she start to die. His lips curled into a smirk as she spoke, such an elegant lady this one pretended to be. "Pleasure to meet you Ms. Rousseau" He murmured lightly, his fingers dancing expertly away from the cubs chomping teeth. "I suppose I could grant some time, for a lady that is" Did he think her not a lady? Well, he'd seen enough to sustain the idea that she was far from a lady, but he had nothing else to do, and his night would only have been filled with nipping bites from a cub and long, dreary thoughts of a past clashing with the future.

The sarcasm, the ice that could be chipped from every word that escaped those very charming and attractive lips. She had a moment where her mind had wandered over his body, and thinking of things she could do. But, as said, this only lasted her a moment as he continued to thus annoy her shortly after. He sure was a smart ass, and if he thought that she would bow down to any man, especially one as himself, then he was more of a fool than just a jerk. Rolling her eyes she shifted the weight on her hips and moved closer, slowly sinking like a flower gracefully into a sitting position. She did all of this silently, however her eyes had never left the man before herself. As she finally dusted what dirt had touched her dress from it, she then spoke slowly and carefully, "Perhaps you shall watch your manners, Or is that perhaps why your time is spent out here with animals" She then cocked her head to the side and said, "Hmm, Either way.. Not why I am sitting here, and most certainly haven't sat in your presence merely to bicker like humans."
She then spotted another fleck of dirt on the lower hem of her dress, leaning and flicking it back to the ground where it belonged. Upon setting her eyes back up she looked back at the man, then at the cub and spoke again, "Do you just own the one cub, And may I ask.. How on earth did you obtain such a beautifully wild creature?" Her hardened shell had released a bit, as she was not completely ignoring his brazen attitude with her, and thus focusing on the animal that had caught her attentions in the first place. Reaching out a hand she all but knew the beast may bite her hand, But she would heal quickly enough and there for did not fear the beast as most others would have. In fact, she had never recalled anyone or anything that she was ever truly afraid of.. She was anti-fear it seemed after all.
After a few seconds she dropped her hand when she got bored, and looked back to the man and spoke again, this time bluntly, "What kind of vampire are you by the way, Because... I know you are not human, and you seem different.. oddly different." He seemed rough, untamed... Much like a beast rather than a normal Azure vampire such as herself. She had always heard rumors about their being other types of vampires, and she wondered which this man fell under, and why he was so tough and crude.. Almost as if he was a broken person, dead set upon being harder and stronger... She sighed softly, even before she could contain it, and then brought a hand up to her forehead. The backside of it touched her forehead, and made sure that she was feeling alright.. Heavens knows that she did not wish to return to the castle yet. It was still early in the evening, and she intended upon going other places besides speaking with this man.
