The new cook was in today, and he was fitting in just fine if Emerson had anything to say about it. He was polite to her, he worked well with the others, and his food was fantastic. Almost better than Rudy's if she did say so herself, though god forbid she tell her pet that, he'd throw a fit probably. Stop making her delicious things out of chocolate which would be a shame really. She'd have to just keep this particular thought to herself then, maybe if he pissed her off enough she would. She glanced up from the work upon her desk as one of the waitress' knocked against her office doors wood frame, smiling ever so slightly as Emerson motioned her in. "What can I do for you Josie?" The small, petite brunette moved into the office towards Emerson's desk, leaning against one of the cushy chairs sitting before the mahogany desk. "Your nephew's here Ms. Remington" A pale eyebrow rose at that news, Andromeda was supposed to be in school. Delicious. His parents would be furious if they found out.
It wasn't unknown that Emerson spoiled her nephew, supported most all his decisions, and enjoyed pissing off his parents while doing so. It wasn't unknown that Emerson did not like her brother's wife in the least, and she wasn't particularly fond of her brother either. Emerson was wholly convinced that the only reason that Andromeda's mother married Em's brother was for the money, she was a gold digger and that was all there was too it. Emerson hated her, and any chance to piss her off was one that she pounced on eagerly. So was that the exact reason as to why she spoiled Andromeda? Why she was so eager to help him out in anything that he needed? Perhaps. Emerson had never stopped to reflect on it, to see if she truly did love Andromeda as she easily proclaimed and acted or if he was merely a tool used to get back at her brother for slights that they both dished out easily to one another? Who knew.
Regardless, her nephew was here for lunch, obviously blowing off classes. Which Emerson only encouraged by telling him he was welcome to come to La Reve whenever he wanted and whatever he ate would be on the house. She hadn't offered to anyone else in her family other than Lucian, her aunt and her cousin, that. The rich snobs could afford to eat at her place and she wasn't going to pay for them, especially since she didn't particularly like the rest of them. She stood up from her spot, nodding her head and flipping over an order form she had been looking at. "Alright, are you on your break?" She rose an eyebrow at the girl who nodded eagerly, everyone knew that Emerson did not like when others lingered about and she was always quick to snap at them to get to work or find something to do. She didn't respond to Josie's affirmative response, instead walked out of her office, shutting the door as she did so, she did not like others snooping in her office when she wasn't in there.
She walked out into the main part of her restaurant, her sharp blue eyes scanning over the mild chatter that was the lunch rush at La Reve, she noted a few regulars that came to lunch here every day, some new people, some who attended randomly, and finally found her nephew, already seated at a table by a young blonde waitress. She made her way over, high heels clicking on the floor as she smiled at him. "Andromeda, what a surprise, skipping school again?" She rose an eyebrow but a grin spread across her face, clearly showing that she most certainly did approve of this. She took a seat at the table with him, she hadn't eaten yet, so she supposed it might be a nice time to have lunch.
