It was one of those days where Aerie had to get out of the wall that was so called Sector. She was a refugee in this new world and all she cared about was staying safe and staying her own person and not someones pet as they called them. She didn't understand how some of the humans; and scarce humans now, turned them selves into the vampires to be under their watch and work for them. Aerie could never turn herself in to being told what to do and where to go and all of that jazz by a vampire. Now there were some that she knew were not bad, in fact she had friends that were vampires and they helped her out as much as they could in the sense that they gave her a roof over her head and food in her belly. Other than that she was on her own, she had a little nook that she built up that was out of site and out of mind to the people within these walls. It was along the outskirts, near the wall itself and it was a little cave you could call it. She made it cozy and livable just by going out and taking the things she needed.
Sure she's gotten herself into trouble before but she's blonde and her blonde moments have helped her through a lot and in turn it was a learning experience for her. She's heard of people playing the part of a vampire to blend in, but Aerie couldn't understand how to do it or pick it up easily. She never really sat back and watched how they acted and moved. All she really cared about was her family and whether or not they were still alive or not. She figured her parents were drained years ago but when shit hit the fan, A was separated from her older brother and younger sister. She hoped that they were together and were playing this human thing smart. And hopefully their health held up to where they didn't turn and they stayed a human like she had. She knew her younger sister was still prone to turning. She couldn't think of them being vampires, her family would be different then.
Aerie was lost in thought when she came upon a small hole in the wall that she managed to make after a year or so. She had it hidden behind a bush so that it was inconspicuous. And she made it small enough to where she could even barely make it through. And once she was out of those horrid walls she took off toward the lake. She had been there plenty of times before so she had memorized the way to it. Though in the woods she had to watch her back because there were trackers and spies in these areas and to be caught would be the death of her certainly.
Eventually she made it there and she slid off her shoes and placed her feet in the chilly water. She came out here sometimes to clear her mind and just think about things and get away from the madness that was her life now. Maybe she shouldn't but she's never seen another soul around here since she discovered the place so she let her guard down a little. She wished that she could find this place, this human 'sanctuary' you could call it. She heard whispers through the town of a place like that that existed, but she figured it was just some pipe fantasy that every human thinks about. A safe haven for them.

Work was never ending in camp, it seemed every time he got done doing one thing another project would pop up for him to do. He'd just finished checking the supplies for the week, making a note to head into the city and talk to Rudy about getting fresh food out to the camp, and had helped with gathering water from the well for a family who lived within the camp. He hadn't had time to just sit down for a moment, though he was loathing any time that would give him a chance to reflect on the world around him. He always seemed to find himself thinking of the past, of what could have been. He always found himself wondering if he could have done more. He always found himself thinking of his parents. Dangerous thoughts that would only dampen his mood, not help him with his goals.
So he didn't give himself a chance to think about things like that. Instead he walked into the little building they used as an armory, grabbed himself a pistol which he placed in the holster at his waist and a bow and quiver from the table. He'd go out and hunt for whatever meat he could out in the forest, even with Rudy helping them get some fresh produce they still needed to go out hunting. Food was scarce and he couldn't remember how much time he'd spent trying to find suitable food. He moved out of the building and into the thick woods that surrounded the camp, quiver slung on his back and the bow carried in his left hand. He was adept with using weapons, not as good with a bow as he was with a gun, but he wasn't about to go hunting with a gun, letting the shots he fired alert anyone in the area that someone was there.
That was how humans got caught by vampires, by foolishly thinking they were alone so deep into the forest. Vampire hearing was good, he wasn't going to risk hunting with a rifle when a vampire could easily hear the shots he fired. So he stalked quietly through the forest, eyes and ears alert for anything. Whether it be another person or a potential meal, Sampson wasn't going to let his guard down any time soon. Especially not as he wandered further away from the camp. Besides the more alert and aware he was of his surroundings, the less of a chance he had of sneaking off into his thoughts, of reliving past ventures, or thinking of future problems. He was concerned that Tessa was going to find out about his sister, how his sister was a vampire, and he feared the reaction that would cause.
Sammy wouldn't let anything happen to Naomi, wouldn't let anyone hurt her. And if he had to stand against camp to protect her...well if that day came, the decision would be made then. Now he would just worry about getting food for the camp and keeping them safe. He quickly found himself at the lake, keeping to the woods, his eyes scanning the waters edge before he noticed someone sitting down, with her feet in the water. She appeared young, but Sampson had been fooled by appearances before, and he was cautious in his approach. He slid the quiver from his back, set the bow and arrows behind a tree and made sure the gun in its holster was covered by the jacket he was wearing. He couldn't tell if she was human or not, and he didn't need to give her any reason for a hostile reaction to him.
Instead he put on a light smile as he approached, a friendly one. Sampson would try to figure out if the girl was human, and if she was, take her back to camp if she wanted. She didn't appear to have any sort of pet marker upon her, which made it more prone that she was a vampire, but of course he'd met humans who snuck out without the pet marker upon them. He'd just have to see. "Is the water cold?" He asked in a friendly tone, keeping his distance but being close enough to be heard. Tag: Aerie Words: 708 Notes: A bit suckish sorry!

Aerie was contemplating life as she was slowing moving her feet in small circles in the water; making slight ripples as they moved. She was wondering where her brother and sister could've gotten off to. She wondered if they were together and more importantly if they were still alive and human and if she would ever see them again. And then there was her boyfriend -err, ex boyfriend but all the same non the less. They had a huge falling out when she tricked him and she hadn't heard from him since. Aerie figured that he wanted nothing to do with her or that she was dead to him. But still, she had his best at heard and only good intentions as she tried to help him through his tough time. She too wondered if she would see him again. Hell she lost touch of where he was a couple months back and for all she knew, he was dead. Dead by draining or his liver finally gave in, which ever came first. She tried not to think about it but it was a good possibility.
Aerie got still when she thought she heard someones' steps in the woods behind her. She tensed slightly but then corrected herself to not show that she had some fear. Sure she was best friends with a vampire but that didn't mean that most of them were worse off. She knew it was better to not seem afraid than it was to show that you were a weak link. But then again, she shouldn't have let her guard down out here. These were the woods and she knew that some vampires hunted out here and that alone was a dead ringer to not let her guard down.
She was right, there was someone behind her and they spoke to her, asking how the water was. A deep voice, a males voice. "It's alright, not too chilly." She said as she then pulled her feet from the water and went to stand up. Brushing off her backside she turned around to face her greeter. And as she did "Hello!" Said the little voice inside her head. He was very handsome, older of course. But he was tall, a bit rugged looking and she noticed he didn't have a form of the pet thing on him anywhere. So that could only mean one of two things: A) he was a vampire and she was going to have to figure out a way out of this one, or B) he was human. And in that case what was he doing out here by himself? Aerie mentally slapped herself because hellloooo, she was out here all by herself and at least he looked like he could handle himself, Aerie not so much.
Aerie tried to think of something quick to say. "So who're you?" She asked him, a bit direct but hey it was something. "And don't even think about taking a bite out of me!" She said just to make that perfectly clear. It was shaded so she wasn't able to tell what type of person he was just yet so she figured she'd throw something out there like that by sort of putting her foot in her mouth.
