She supposed it wasn't completely unrealistic to wonder why she was working here, she owned the most expensive stable around, employed expensive trainers, kept expensive, well trained horses in an expensive and well built barn. So why was she working part-time at a place like this? For exactly that reason, because everything was so god damn expensive. Sure if she wanted to sleep in the barn every night, eat hay with the horses, she could live off the profit that the stable made, but she was rather opposed to that idea. It seemed that every cent that she got from those who boarded or paid for lessons went right back into the stable, fixing fences, replacing wooden slabs, fixing stable doors, buying more hay, more horse food. Paying vet bills for her own very expensive horse, the dun stallion was not a cheap little pony and so she had found another job to earn herself a little extra money so she could afford the apartment she lived in and buy the things that made her lifestyle less of a country hick and more of a modern city woman.
So that was why she was currently working as a bartender in Indulgence, forcing a smile on her face as another patron ordered a drink, her quick, deft hands mixing said drink and handing it out, being careful not to brush against the man's skin. She'd already had three slips today, small slips, once when she grasped a bottle while her mind was busy with something else, a strong event still clinging to it and it had transported her to what she could only assume a few days earlier when there had been a brawl on the lower level. The next time she had been mixing a drink and another one of the bartender's had laid a hand on her bare arm, startling her into a vision of a woman slapping him across the face and when she came back from it her gaze slipped to his cheek, a faint red mark showing it had also been a few days ago. The third, and final time, had been when she was handing out a drink, a drunk man had grasped her slim wrist and once more she had been distracted.
Needless to say that particular vision had left her rather flushed and determined not to have another slip up. Which she didn't, thankfully, and her shift ended without another mishap. She hated how her affinity got the best of her sometimes, causing her to blank out completely for the few moments it took for the vision of the past to press upon her, not only gathering her odd looks but shouts of irritation when she ended up taking too long in getting a drink. It wasn't her fault she slipped up sometimes, and forcing her way out of visions usually left her with a pounding headache and on rare occasions bloody noses. She hadn't had a past vision of anything so severe that it gave her a bloody nose in a long time, and she was thankful for that, she was more than happy without getting a bloody nose and the pounding headache that accompanied it. You sure your okay sugar? One of the other bartenders asked her, for the fourth time tonight and Isadora forced the irritation down as she frowned at the woman. "Yeah, I'm fine, really don't worry about it"
She slipped out from behind the bar and wound her way through the crowd, keeping care to keep her arms from brushing against other people, keeping a firm clamp on the affinity that loved to just screw with her. She walked into the back where she had left her coat, a hand reaching up to pull out the hair tie that kept her long dark hair up in a high ponytail. She was tired, which wasn't a new thing, and she still needed to bring in Comanche, her dun stallion, who apparently had gotten left out in one of the round pens. She was seriously starting to think she needed new night help, as this was the second time in a week that Comanche had gotten left out and she'd had to bring him in when she got home, which was usually late considering she worked the night shift most of the time. With a frustrated sigh she slipped on the jacket, slipping the hair tie onto her wrist and running a hand through her hair. Comanche probably hadn't gotten fed either. Talon was standing in front of the mirror in his lavish apartment, he was thinking of how he was doing something very different this evening. He stood there and slid on his black blazer over the black button down he was wearing. He had on a bow tie, but it wasn't tied and he wasn't sure if he was actually going to tie it either. He didn't think he had to, sure he was venturing to his place of business, but a sort of unkempt look was actually presentable if you could pull it off and Talon knew very well that short of a pink tutu he could pull off most anything. He grinned a little bit as he thought about that. He was a cocky bastard, but he made no apologies for it. Why should he? He didn't think that there was ever a need for it, so he didn't.
More to the point though, Talon was going to the club that he owned. It wasn't something that he usually did unless he was going to his office and if he was doing that no one would no the difference. He didn't make his presence known. This evening he was actually going into the club through the entrance. He was going to see the people and see how they reacted to his club. He was not concerned or anything about the clubs well-being or anything like that. He was more just trying to see what the people were like and if there was anything that needed changing. Even though Talon spent most of his time being a dick and seducing many a woman, he was incredibly business oriented. He cared very deeply to keep his business alive and keep his clients happy. So he was going there to do just that.
He slipped on his black shoes and he tied them up and walked out of his apartment lost in thought. He was happy to go and walk to the club. He was sick of sitting down in his apartment. If he had wanted he could have gone out and picked up some woman and made a wonderful night of it. He could have called up his pet, and made her come to him and he could of amused himself with her but that just hadn't appealed to him either. He really wanted to do something different tonight so that was what he was going to do.
He kept walking and he saw his club and he loved the way the line wrapped around the block. That was something he liked to see, he liked seeing people anxiously awaiting to get into his club. Now, since he was not going in as the owner this evening, though some people might notice him as such, he was not going to go through the back. He walked right up to the bouncer who knew who he was and then walked into the front of the club.
He was so pleased by the sound of which he was greeted. He heard the music blasting, he saw the people gyrating and having a good time. He saw them buying drinks and enjoying themselves and he couldn't help the growing smirk that spread across his face as he moved more and more into the crowd. This was a business owner;s dream. The club wasn't slow, it was fast paced. Strobe lights lit up the dance floor, people were approaching the bartender and handing him money left and right. The more he walked in the more he felt good about his club, he didn't think it would need much more improvement. Everything could use more improvement but he didn't think he would be going out of business any time soon.
He smirked and walked his way over to the bar, he danced with a girl or two as he walked over and he smirked when they tried to get him to dance some more. He watched the bartender work, and hung back a little bit so that the actual customers could get their drinks and Talon would not be in the way. He smirked a little bit. He was enjoying his own club. If it wasn't for the fact that he owned the place, he would probably have ended up coming here more often to do social things. After a few moments, he ran a hand through his hair and stood up. It was time for him to make a quick escape out of the back of the club, where the employe's left out of. He had seen what he needed to see of the club and now he could leave and go about his business.
He looked back toward the main entrance and saw more people pouring in and just grinned and got up and walked towards the back. As he walked towards the back he noticed someone also going to the back, which must have meant that she was an employee. She was also extremely good looking. He cocked his head to the side and decided to follow her. He didn't recognize her as someone he hired personally, he would have remembered someone like that but even so, he could now change his night. He had done his business part of the evening, perhaps now he could turn into pleasure. He had no problems with mixing business with pleasure. None what so ever.
He noticed her stop, and pull out her hair and he cocked his head to the side and smiled a little bit. He wasn't sure how he was going to approach her exactly but he figured that he would just talk to her and she would fall for his good looks and charm. He grinned a little bit and slowly approached her.
"Hello...Done with your shift?"it was a small question, just something to break the ice really, but it would be fun to see how she reacted to him. Whether or not she knew who he was, he wondered, but he was very interested to find out.

She was completely lost in thought, her mind on the things she needed to do when she got home, bring Comanche in, make sure he got his grain, then double check the other horses and go over the trainer's schedule for the next week. So even though it was late already, Isadora's day was not yet over. And she was tired, she could feel the beginnings of a headache, which only made her that much less aware of what was going on around her. She was much more concerned with making sure her affinity didn't get the best of her again. She was tired of being caught unaware, she usually had such good control of it, though since working at Indulgence she'd had her mind so full of drink orders, thoughts of the horses, things she had to do the next day, ect, that the control she had over her affinity tended to slip past her fingers more often than not. She reached for the coat, shrugging it on, covering the portion of the intricate red tattoo that covered her right hand and moved all the way up her arm.
She ran a hand through her hair, ignoring the light prick of pain when she encountered a tangle in the long dark tresses and she couldn't help but start when another's voice spoke behind her. She forced herself to keep steady, not whip around like a scared deer, and she turned around calmly to see who had startled her so. And was not disappointed when she found herself staring at a rather attractive man. Isadora might not romp around at all with other men, but she could appreciate good looks, that didn't require touching and it was most certainly a past time she enjoyed. He seemed familiar, even if she hadn't ever seen him before, or had she? She wracked her brain for any sort of memory, any sort of inclination that she knew the man. Oh, and there it was, when she shook the hand of the person who'd hired her, a past vision had sprung upon her, and it featured this man here. Talon Mathers, her boss. Well, her boss when she was working, which she wasn't now. Now she was off the clock and therefore she had no issues with regarding him with a cool expression.
"Yes I am, was on my way out actually" Despite the cool look her words were spoken politely, with a warm tone to them. Isadora prided herself on her politeness, prided herself on her good behavior and even if she was eager as hell to get out of the club and get home, she wouldn't be impolite. "Mr. Mathers, Isadora Diardo, it's a pleasure to meet you finally, but I'm afraid you've caught me at a bad time" She smiled politely, she'd have offered him a hand to shake but she wasn't quite sure how tightly her control on her affinity was and she did not want to risk it, especially since she could feel the headache in the back of her mind. While she wasn't in the business of insulting her bosses, she wasn't on the clock, and she had her own business she needed to take care of. She reached for the phone she'd left on the table, slipping it into her jacket, not before noting the text from one of the trainers saying she didn't have time to put away Comanche, and that the mare in the last stall had lost a shoe again.
She sighed at that. Well, now she'd have to not only bring Comanche in, feed him, but go search for that damn shoe in whatever field that mare had been in today. Well wasn't this turning out to be quite the night. Though it was worth it, she wouldn't have it any different. Perhaps not have that stupid stable hand forget to bring in Comanche every night and feed him. Though her stallion was a bit high strung, it took a firm hand and a stern tone to get him to do what one wanted. Isadora didn't have one issue getting the stallion to cooperate, to settle down and do what she wanted him to do. She would have left the conversation at that, left, if not for the fact that Talon was in her way, and she had enough slip ups tonight to warn her against trying to brush past him and accidentally have some skin contact. She wouldn't risk it, not if she wasn't simply going to go home and crash. She wasn't interested in having a headache while searching through a field for that damn horse shoe. There were certain things that Talon Mathers was not used to, one of those things were taking no for an answer. He was actually quite bad at it. Now there were some times when the situation called for him to just let it go, but those times were far and few between and he very rarely had to deal with them. Even before he had become a vampire, taking no for answer was just not something that happened. If he had, he wouldn't be where he was now. He wouldn't be such a success with a wonderful club business and a pet at his beck and call. He just wasn't used to doing it, and he couldn't think of a situation where he would need to either. So when he had followed the employee he knew was his out to the back, he had no worries about the fact that she would be leaving with him and once he had that in his mind set, there was no turning back from it. He had sights on her, target acquired and locked on.
He watched her run her hands through her hair and he smirked a little bit as he approached her. He had asked a simple small question, he had just asked her if she was done with her shift. Talon knew how to approach things. Approaching her looking like he was trying to pick her up would have just been a bad idea and would have ended badly, but starting off with a small question and all of a sudden they would be having a conversation and a conversation could lead to all sorts of things.
So he asked her, and she had turned and looked at him and he got the full hit of her face. She was very beautiful, very beautiful indeed. He had been right to follow her and now he was going to do his damnedest to give her a reason to stay and have a little chat with him. It wouldn't be too hard, he had convinced models to leave shoots to come and stay with him back when he had lived in New York, but would be another story for another time. The point was, he wasn't expecting this to be too hard for him.
She had a sort of cool look to her face, but when she spoke to him she sounded almost sweet. She said that she was on her way out and Talon nodded a little bit. She seemed to be trying to place his face. He was going to give her to opportunity to try and figure it out. He was in fact her boss, but not a lot of his employees knew him personally. He knew very few of them personally actually. It was something he thought of rectifying sometimes but most of the time he just ended up not doing it.
She spoke again, realizing who he was saying her name and that it was a pleasure to finally meet him but he had caught her at a bad time and he looked at her. Oh she was trying to leave? Talon just could not let that happen, his eyes that were were currently blue shone brightly in the dimly lit space they were standing in.
Talon had a choice to make, he could let her go about her business and try and get with her some other time or he could do what he set out to do and take her with him. He was going with option B. He was already formulating a plan in his head of how to do it. He was a dastardly devil if he did say so himself.
"Oh I know who you are Ms. Diardo, actually I had been looking for you. I am sorry that It's a bad time but I had somethings that I would like to discuss with you."He didn't, well he did have some things that he would like to discuss with her but those things would be unintelligible noises and come out horizontally. She didn't know that though and even though she was now off the clock, he was still her boss and he strongly doubted that she was going to want to just blow him off when he could take that in a bad way in and possibly fire her, not that he was going to do that but she didn't really know that either, now did she?
"If you would just come up to my office and discuss this matter with me, I am sure that you could get out of here quickly"he said with a very suave and very reassuring smile. He was trying to get her to stay. Once they got up to his office he would pour her a drink and they would relax and everything would be fine, but for now he had to keep up his little ruse, he didn't even feel bad. Talon Mathers did not take no for an answer.

Isadora was more than okay with telling someone no, and at the current moment that exact word was on her mind. Her thoughts weren't on a possible night with the attractive guy in front of her, instead they were on the fact that Comanche was out in the cold and hadn't been fed yet, a mare had lost a shoe and was probably standing uncomfortably in her stall, and about the fact that she needed to find said shoe so it could be put back on. Then she needed to over-look the schedule for the next week, go over which trainers were available and what students were in need of lessons. She usually did the scheduling for everyone, so that there wasn't conflict, trainers had designated times in the indoor arena, lessons were then applied to which trainers had what time.
She found it easier just to do it all herself, and she had planned on getting it finished tonight and posted for the next two weeks tomorrow. She could feel the light frown tug at the corner of her lips as he said that he had something to discuss with her, something that apparently couldn't wait. Unfortunately, it would have too. "Mr. Mathers, I'm terribly sorry, but I really don't have the time right now, I need to get home" Well, she needed to stop at her apartment, slip out of these clean jeans and into a pair of old ones, and switch her heels out for a pair of boots. Then she'd go out to the stable. So it wasn't a complete lie, and she had a feeling he probably didn't much care for the reason she needed to go, so she wouldn't give it to him. But the plain fact was, she needed to go and she wasn't going to stay.
Once more her lips tugged into a frown as he asked her to step up to his office, that this would only take a moment and she regarded him a moment. "If it will only take a moment, I'm sure I could stop in tomorrow, I really do need to get going" Sure she didn't want to lose her job, but the clear fact was, she didn't particularly need it, and while he could very well fire her for not listening to him, she had more pressing matters to attend to, and she would gladly get fired numerous times if it meant being able to go home to Comanche when he needed her. Her stable was far more important to her then her part-time job here, and not even a very attractive man telling her he needed her to stay and talk with him could sway her from the fact she was needed at the stable. He would just have to deal with it.
Of course she, being a bit of a business person herself, could tell when another wasn't fond of taking no for an answer, so in order to hopefully placate him enough to put off this meeting until a later date, she forced an easy smile onto her face. "I'm afraid my horse got left out again tonight, I need to get over to the stable as soon as possible" And with that she zipped her coat up, a clear sign that she was leaving now, instead of later. The headache still lingered in the back of her mind, which once more caused her to keep her distance. She definitely did not need to see what he got up to in his free time. She still kept that cool look to her, even though her tones had been warm and polite,an unyielding look to her. She hadn't gotten through her life being compliant with others after all.
Her attitude with horses could easily be shifted to people. Some just needed a firm handling, constant correction, and even tones. She had a suspicion that she'd need a firm hand when it came to making Talon understand perfectly that when she said no, she meant no, and that was that. He wouldn't be the first person she'd said no to, he certainly wouldn't be the last. Of course it was a bit of a precarious path she walked when the man she was saying no to was her boss. But how many times had she already told herself she didn't need this job? She knew that she needed the extra money if she wanted to continue to live in the apartment she had, but that wasn't going to make her complacent to his wants. She could feel herself bristling at that thought, this was part of the reason she didn't like working for someone else, she didn't like the feel of being bossed around. Not at all. Tag: Talon Words: 799 Notes: <.< she's a stubborn one! (I like dastardly devil too xD)

Talon was not liking how this was going. In fact, he was not liking it at all. Bad things happened when Talon wasn't in good spirits. He was trying really hard to stay in the good mood he had been in before, but with the way that things were going it didn't seem to be working. Talon didn't understand, he wasn't doing anything wrong. The lovely woman in front of him just didn't seem like she wanted to stay. This was something that Talon could not understand. Why would she not want to stay? Hadn't she looked at him? Sure that was conceited but Talon did not care at all. He knew very well that she had to be interested in him. He knew it, but somehow she seemed to think that it was perfectly okay to rebuff his affections.
This was not something that he normally experienced ever. Even before he had become a vampire, he had just been handsome and talented and people loved him because of that. Women especially. He obviously never had a problem with it. He just figured that he was gifted with the ability to seduce a woman. He wasn't about to let that streak end now. He was determined. If he thought someone was not worth while most of the time he would just give up and move on to someone who was worth his time but for some reason he really did not want to do that. He thought that this one would be worth while if he could just get her to relax with him. The only question was how to do that. Talon was trying to figure it out.
He was asking her to say and to come up to his office but she said she had to go and frowned and look at her. What could she possibly have to do that could be more important than spending a lovely evening with him? He didn't think he was bad company. As long as he was in a good mood that is. If he was in a good mood then he was perfect company. He was going to have to convince her of this. Even though he was feeling tense, his body language did not betray him. He had his hands comfortably slid into his pockets and he was standing there while she looked far from relaxed. He had told her that it would only take a minute. He had been lying, but he had told her anyway.
Apparently though she had seen it as an excuse to say that whatever he needed could wait. Talon looked at her and tried to decide what he could do from here. She was being tough, but he liked a challenge as well as the next man so he was not going to give up.
She then explained that her horse had been left out and that she needed to attend to it and Talon had a little light click on inside his head. So she was caring for animal. Well obviously it meant a great deal to her so he was going to have to play on that. He would offer to go with her and that would take care of the problem. He saw no reason that she would have for telling him that he could not come with her. He was her boss sure, but also it was a kind gesture. He wasn't really dressed for the occasion but hey, there was dry cleaning and perhaps it would end up being worth it, it had better, he thought to himself before he spoke to her.
"Oh...Well I am deeply sorry that your horse got left out that does sound like a problem. Perhaps you would allow me to accompany you? I would happy to help and then perhaps we could discuss this matter without it causing a problem for you?"he was being sweet. He was being charming, really he was just being himself.
He was smiling at her. He had a car, not one that he drove often but he had one and he would happily drive or walk with her. He didn't think that this would be a problem and he really thought that she had no way out of this one.
"I would be happy to help anyway I could."he was being nice, he was being cavalier even. She was lucky, he would like to see her shoot that one down.
