It was always easy to tell what state that Lexi had dressed herself in. She never dressed while drunk, so that was out. And when she dressed herself when she was sober she often dressed like a ragamuffin, with torn up jeans, hoodies and beat up electric colored converse. The most interesting outfits came when she was high. That was when the combat boots, the short skirts, the weird outfits came out to play. She was never quite sure why it changed. She guessed it was mostly because she was always up for more fun when she was high, therefore she dressed like it. Her usual acquaintances while she was high never seemed to mind much so she saw nothing wrong with the way that she dressed. Of course. And tonight was a “dressed while high” night. She had managed to save a pill from the night before so she had an epic buzz going on when she was getting ready, it had her grinning like a maniac as she winged the black eyeliner on her electric green eyes and brushed out her electric blue hair. Lexi was a hard one to miss and a hard one to hold on to, if the way she bounced around from “owner” to “owner” said anything about that. She was off to the clubs to see if she could manage to keep her buzz going, that was always the plan. Lexi had killed her father when she was still young, on accident to protect her cousin, but the memory haunted her. As long as she was buzzed off on something or another, she could manage to pretend it had never happened because it made her memory nice and spotty. So Lexi was always doing her best to get juiced up and never come down. So far it had been working. Mostly because she had a “friend” or two who kept her flying high as a kite. Absently she rubbed the burn on her hip as she thought of one such friend and shook her head with a wicked grin. Did it matter? She was a little masochist, she didn’t really care much. She wanted a bite, a fuck, a drug, she didn’t care what she had to do to get it. She didn’t even remember the names of those who got her flying, just the faces, and that was what was important. She grinned and skipped out of the room that she had in the staff quarters of the Monarchs weird old Citadel. Absently she tugged at the collar that was sewn around her neck because she had lost her damn tag protection pet marker thing at one point so it had gotten sewn on. Her lime green fingernails dug into the groove as she walked, tiling her head this way and that and spinning about on her impossibly high shoes that she could only really walk in when in this state for reasons even she didn’t understand completely. Oh well. It was an easy walk to the clubs, if there was one thing that Lex remembered it was how to get to the places she could get a fix. Her life focused on her fixes of course. She could hear the blasting music before she even got too close and she slipped into the doors with a slick little grin. She was always happy to be in Indulgence, this place was full of those who wanted to have a good time and so did she! So it was the perfect place for her for once, there had to be one of those though didn’t there? For a second she thought of her cousin but then tossed her head. Her cousin was her perfect place, wherever the girl was, but she had been lost to her since the middle of the war. She was probably a good little girl off at Camp while Lexi had surrendered to being a pet without a second blink. Getting bitten all the time? Fuck yes she was in. Faith would be so disappointed in her big cousin. Oh well, Faith was the smart one not Lex. She shrugged and swayed as she pushed through the crowd. She was high so the thought didn’t last too long. Being that she already felt like she was floating. Oops. What had been in that pill? She giggled a bit and skipped off. She had taken it already, so what was the point in wondering? Her eyes scanned the crowd as she swayed and moved through, looking for one of her usual dealers, the sort that would take biting her or a fuck in exchange for the drug rather than money which Lexi did not have. She had two or three that would, some more favored than others. Bored of scanning the crowd, she instead headed towards the bar, because she had a totally brilliant plan. In the towering heels that normal people shouldn’t be able to wear, Lex climbed up onto the bar. She knew it was only a matter of time before the barkeep tugged her down but fuck that, she wanted to scan and see if she knew anyone, her head tilting this way and that as instead of actually looking, the lights distracted her—easy to do with her—and she was dancing about on the bar soon enough instead, with the bartender telling her to get her ass down, not like she was listening. The music seemed to make the air shake, even outside the club. Shake and vibrate with the pounding bass and Laurel could already feel herself loosening up a bit. And why shouldn't she? Indulgence had provided her with quite the adventure last time, there was no thoughts that it would let her down this time. She'd left her dorm a few hours ago, leaving her ever faithful bird back in the small space, in the desire to occupy her mind instead of doing english homework. Which she hated by the way. So she'd skipped off to go do..well nothing in the city. Wander around, popped into the Citadel to see her father, bother her grand-father, dote on her aunt, the usual things she did while trying to avoid the hated homework. She still couldn't understand why her father thought it was so important for her to go to school. She wasn't learning anything that would really help her, she'd spent a good chunk of her life with no education and she had done just fine.
But thoughts of school were far from her mind tonight, oh no, she was intending to find something amusing and entertaining to do tonight. While the last time she was in Indulgence she'd ended up in a rather odd position, it'd been rather pleasant. She supposed part of herself was wondering if she'd see him again, she wouldn't mind spending another night in his company. She stepped into the club, the faint clicking of her heels disappearing as the music surrounded her, drowning out most every noise, until she concentrated, picking up snippets of things. Thank god for vamp hearing. The woman made her way to the bar, ordering herself a drink before she ended up leaning against the counters edge. odd, this was the same exact spot she'd been in when she'd noticed Tripp punching some poor kid. And now she was nursing a drink and staring at people once more.
Until she heard the bartender yell at someone and glanced back at the counter to find someone dancing upon the bar. Well she supposed that was interesting, the bright blue hair of the girl was a bit different, and Laurel rose an eyebrow as she watched the bartender yell at the girl, taking another sip of her drink. She caught sight of the collar around the woman's neck, marking her as a human and a pet. "Having fun? I have to admit, that looks more entertaining than anything else in this place" Wasn't people dancing on the bar always far more entertaining? Well, given who was up on the bar dancing it could be entertaining or just a disaster. But she supposed the woman on the bar wasn't bad looking, odd in her high as all hell heels, and blue ass hair, but she wasn't bad looking. Laurel'd admit someone was attractive if they were.
Her eyes scanned the area for a familiar face before looking back at the woman. Well, she looked like she'd be fun. She also looked high. Laurel felt a twinge at that but she ignored it. She didn't need any of that. She looked over at the bartender, flashing him a smile and asking for one of the bottles behind the counter. Of course, that was a no no but she frowned, raising her eyebrow and leaned over, whispering a few words of 'encouragement' and presto! He handed her a bottle. "Get down from there and I'll let you have the bottle" Bribing, works most of the time on most people. Maybe it'd work on the woman. Why she was bothering to get the woman off the counter she wasn't real sure, maybe she'd get some sort of amusement from watching the girl struggle to get off the counter.
That was a bit mean of her. Oh well, amusement had to come form somewhere right? Tag: Lex Words: 654 Notes: A lil short and odd but here

Lexi didn’t see why anyone had to ruin her fun. She got that she was a human and most nights she just didn’t care because ti meant more bites and drugs for her. But that didn’t mean that anyone should get to spoil her fun! She nearly pouted but it turned into a giggle instead. She was high as a kite, anger was a hard emotion for her to hold on to when she was in this state. Which was why she was most often in this state. When she was anything else her anger seemed to be elevated.
But what had been her point again? Oh yeah! Back to the point. She didn’t get why anyone had to ruin her fun! She was totally content to be dancing up on the bar, not caring that her leather dress was short enough that she was likely giving more of a show than she had intended to in the first place. She barely noticed the bartenders yelling at her. Why were they yelling, wasn’t this a place to have fun? They should just let go and have a little bit of fun, she wasn’t hurting anyone to be up here! She stuck her tongue out at the yelling bartenders and kept dancing. Though Lexi couldn’t dance, it was more of a sway and a swirl.
She heard someone ask her if she was having fun and she blinked. Well wasn’t that the damn point? Hadn’t that been the original point? She was having trouble staying on topic but she was high. That was why she got high. SO she wouldn’t have to think. Not think about anything at all, about losing her cousin, about her dads throat gaping at her like a smiling mouth, about how her mom used to smoke to pretend her husband wasn’t an abusive fucker. It was a good way to be. But it also meant that she had troubles focusing. Fuck she had troubles focusing now when she was sober. Effects of her lifestyle but she wasn’t going to quit anytime soon.
She happily kept dancing about, losing herself to the music and again forgetting that the bartender wanted her down and off. How silly, she wasn’t going to do that, sorry. She was having fun. He’d have to pull her off if he wanted her off. Not that that was too hard, the girl was about 90 pounds soaking wet and only her shoes really had her standing over the lovely height of 5’3. She was a tiny thing, it would be easy to get her off using force. And on top of that, she was just a human and they were, well, not. They could easily get her down from the bar. But none of that was playing in her head right then. She was too busy losing herself in the lights and the swirling of the colors.
And then a full bottle was being offered to her if she got down. She blinked and looked down, first at the bottle with her light green eyes, and then back to the girl holding it. She tilted her head slightly. She didn’t look familiar, not that that meant anything at all being that Lexi tended to forget a face rather quickly. She shrugged a bit and grinned, widely. She’d do just about anything to feed one high or the other. She examined the bar and huffed a bit, bouncing a little in her heals with a heavy thud-thud-thud on the bar as she did. Feck. How to get down. How to get down.
She was good in her heels, but getting down was always harder than getting up. She bit her lip a little bit and then shrugged. Oh well. She made it onto one of the bar stools, and then of course she wobbled and fell right into some poor guy who was sitting on the next one. Who glared at her and she just blinked. Oops. She giggled a bit and then pushed herself off him. ”Erm, sorry?” she offered with a laugh and an Irish accent. Oops.
She then turned around, a few times, until she refocused with the girl and the bottle. Right. That had taken her a little too long. And it wasn’t too long before her eyes were caught by the lights and distracted again but she managed to pull herself back! She grinned a bit at the chick and tilted her head. ”So…I got down, I did” she offered, with a spacey giggle and a big grin.

Why she cared to get the woman off the bar she wasn't quite sure, but she had already grabbed a bottle and offered it to the blue haired woman. Maybe she figured there would be some sort of entertainment she'd get out of this, the other woman certainly didn't have a problem with partying. Laurel definitely needed someone to party with, and she didn't much care who it was. The real truth was that she'd been hoping to bump into Tripp, she'd been thinking of the guy far more than she really expected too. She hadn't seen him around though, a slight disappointment but she got over it rather quickly. Besides, now she had this clearly high woman grinning at her, finally down from the bar and expecting the bottle in her hand. Laurel rolled her eyes slightly before extending her hand, offering the other woman the bottle.
"Here you go, bottle like I promised" She told the other girl, her voice a little louder due to the fact the woman she happened to talk to was a human. Laurel had definitely noticed the collar around her neck, the one that signified her as a pet. Laurel hadn't ever taken a true stance on pets and humans. She didn't dislike them, nor did she like them. It was the same with vampires, she liked some, she didn't like others. She had no issues with humans. She didn't have issues with many people or things. Not unless they had issues with her or did something to piss her off. Though she didn't particularly care to come to the defense of humans either, didn't care to give voice that perhaps treating them this way, no better than dogs, was wrong. Because she didn't much care about that at all either.
"The fuck you doin' up there anyways? Specially in those fuckin' shoes. Trying to kill yourself?" She intoned lazily, leaning back against the bar and retrieving another drink placed there by the bartender. She raised the glass to her lips and sipped lightly. The music was loud and she almost felt as if her heart was keeping tempo to the bass. Odd. Faster than usual. Perhaps she was nervous, was she nervous? No, what did she have to be nervous about? Perhaps it was anticipation and adrenaline that coursed through her, her hopes still set on seeing Tripp that night. It was odd, feeling this way about someone, wanting to see them so much. Sure she felt that way about Willow or her father, but they were family, she loved going to see them. With Tripp, well it was just different.
"The name's Laurel by the way" She might as well be somewhat friendly, she had just gotten the other woman an entire bottle of alcohol. It seemed she'd found her entertainment for the night, in meeting this crazy little human girl. She took another drink from the glass in her hand, musing that she definitely liked this particular drink. She'd have to get it more often. Lexi had no idea how to get down off the bar, not in the heels she was currently wearing. There was no way she could get down without incident, even if she was better than usual in her heels as long as she was high—she couldn’t maneuver them when sober and tended to stick to her converse when she was—it was still not a good idea. And then she didn’t manage to make it without incident if the fact that she had stumbled and fell into some poor dude said anything. She appolized but he didn’t seem very pleased with her. Maybe it was because of the mark that was clear and out in the open, proclaiming her pet. Not hidden like some other humans. Lexi’s needed to be on display though, for two reasons. One because she was often doing things she shouldn’t and nearly getting herself killed on a daily basis. Two because she tended to take off things when she was high and having it sewn around her neck meant she couldn’t rip it off like she had when she had first become a pet, so many years ago now. But then, of course, the whole reason she had gotten off the bar was for the bottle. Lexi never went out with any money, she often managed to get her drug or her drink from people who wanted something in exchange, sex or a bite or something of the sort. Or things like this happened, it all worked out for her in the end! And she had no problems mixing her drugs and her drinks, it all worked out just fine for her if you asked her. The other woman gave it to her, as promised and Lexi grinned, widely. ”Ta!” she said, quite happily. She opened the bottle without much of a second thought and took a swig. And then another a moment later. The bells on the cuff like bracelets around her wrists jingled as she did, barely audible over the music, she could barely tell they were there herself. The woman, the vamp, asked what she was doing up there, and made a comment about her shoes. Lexi, as per usual when she was high, just rocked in said shoes and looked down at them with a wide, cheeky, grin. ”What’s wrong with the shoes? I walk well in them!” she giggled, Irish accent thick as it always was. And then she shrugged her shoulders, taking another swig. ”I just wanted to have a bit of fun, I did” she answered, enjoying the drink she had. Ooooh this one was fun. She bounced a bit and then swayed, mostly to the beat of the music, though it was a tad off beat, Lexi was not a dancer. She just enjoyed the colors and the lights and the swirl of it all. Another swig of the alcohol that she was very much so enjoying, perhaps more than she should but Lexi was a messed up little brat. She said her name and Lexi nodded, a little bit, ”Laurel….Laurel” she repeated to herself, the second time stretching out the L because it entertained her to do so and made her laugh. She enjoyed L names. It as her attempt to remember the name, but it was likely that it would be gone out of her head by morning when she was sober again. She was very bad at remembering names. Heck, she would be lucky if the name stuck in her head for the next hour or so. But repeating it was an attempt to keep it in the thick skull of hers. And then she blinked. Oops! It was appropriate to share ones own name after being told someone else’s, wasn’t it? It was. She should probably get on that. She nodded a little to herself, with another happy swig. ”I’m Lexi. Lexi Scathe” she said, by way of introduction. Born Alexia O’Riley, she had dumped her original name along the thing she liked to call life. Her new name was more appropriate anyway. Lexi of the Shadows, it meant in her old tongue. It fit better. Absently she tugged at the mark around her neck. ”Why does it matter that I was on the bar anyway?” she asked, going back to the question before, as the space case often didn’t keep a conversation in proper order.
