Mimosa did so enjoy festivals, so much fun. She grinned to herself and skipped along, glancing this way and that at the stalls that lined the walk that she was taking down. There were rides along the far end, and stalls along here, a stage for some to perform and show off their stuff—musicians and dancers and singers and all the rest, it was fun to watch—which was fun. It was just so much. She enjoyed taking it all in, especially because she was new in this particular sector. It was a good way for her to set up herself here. She was able to introduce herself to the sector in a laid back setting that encouraged them to come and see without the commitment or the nerves of walking into a medium’s shop.
She had sat at her own stall for most of the early night, taking in a select few customers, she was picky about her customers. She liked to take those that she knew she could pull a ghost or two for, and being that she could sense them, she generally took those who had them floating about, easy pickings. When they came into her shop she could usually call whatever they needed but in this setting? It was oh so much easier to just pull them if they were nearby.
She had taken her three for the day and now, well, if she pulled anymore she would end up just getting possessed and ran for a joyride so she was not up for that. Running around this festival with a ghost in the front seat? No that did not sound fun to her and while she was a little nutty, she would rather set up her reputation her way and not let a ghost do it. Besides, she wanted to explore for herself and she couldn’t do that with some psycho ghost doing it for her. So she had to put a pause on it.
There had been three pretty awesome customers though, the ghosts she had taken on had been pretty interesting and she had given a pretty good reading to those that came in, letting them get to rest which was something she absolutely adored doing if she had a chance to do so. She also got to give some good traditional readings, let people know what other things she could do for them, sell a good gris gris and pack or two. It was a good sign that her shop would do well in the future and she was looking forward to that.
She was also dressed up in what she had worn during one of her many golden ages. When she had been one of the Voodoo Queens of New Orleans. That had been a fun time for her. SO fun that she had been in that place for a very long time and she still had the accent from it along with her. She could have shrugged it off but she quite enjoyed how it sounded and the attention that it gave her. She quite enjoyed attention, it was damn fun and easy to get with the way that she was, of course.
Spinning as she walked, Mimossa laughed out loud and gave no cares as to the looks she was getting, in fact she grinned and twiddled her fingers at them before continuing in her walk, taking a deep breath in the dying summer air. It was a wonderful night. She hoped that it kept up for the rest of the days that this festival was going on so that way she could keep giving wonderful performances in her stall and not get rained out or something like that. The cold wouldn’t bother her if it got chilly but there was no indication that that was the case.
She stepped out of the way of the traffic, lured by a wonderful smell and went towards a stall that was giving off that wonderful scent. She bent and inhaled, closing her eyes as she did and happily smiled at the girl behind the table. ”Ah, smells wonderful” she said, the New Orleans creole accent thick in her voice as she spoke. She happily took a pretty giant cupcake from the stall, paying for it with the money she had just gotten from her own, and a cool tea as well, and walked off with her treat, taking in the sights.
She had long ago devoured her treat and was walking along the way with just her tea, sipping at it reverently because it was quite lovely and she didn’t want to lose it, when she managed to bump into someone. Luckily, a quick maneuver meant she didn’t spill her drink over the poor dear but it did mean she still bumped into the other person! Her eyes went wide a moment and then she swept into an elaborate curtsey with a grin, trying to lighten the situation if she could. ”Oh cher, I’m sorry. I was a little wrapped up in the sights and sounds!” she informed the other person, with a bright smile and a tilt of the head. Okay, so she was more than a bit kooky but that’s okay. That was just the sort of person that she was!
And she hadn’t changed in seven hundred years, she had no intentions of changing now, just because the vampires were on top. Elegant her ass.
