Visiting the pool wasn't exactly what Tripp had planned for this evening after his workout but when he walked through the doors and the smell of chlorine welcomed him, he honestly knew a break had been long overdue. There were a couple of students swimming when first came through the doors to the pool but upon noticing Tripp's entrance, they quickly exited the pool, gathered their things and left. Their sudden absence did not bother Tripp one bit. He was used to his reputation following him wherever he went.
At first he just slipped into the water and rested his back against the smooth tiled wall of the pool. The pool's water was a welcomed relief after Tripp's workout session. The temperature of the water wasn't freezing, it was just cool enough to be comforting. Tripp let the calm and silence overcome his senses as the water worked its magic on his muscles and his mood. The atmospheric change was greatly needed. Tripp had been spending way too much time in the club and because of that he felt as if lately his ears were always buzzing. The prolonged amount of time he had been spending there had amplified Tripp's normally already destructive attitude and his employer “requested” he take time off.
He liked having the pool to himself. It gave him the right atmosphere in which he could relax properly. His body easily moved through the water, arms and feet propelled him and nothing but the sounds of his breathing and the water where there to calm the static noise of his mind.
He had made and few passes up and down the long length of the pool before he felt satisfied enough to stop. He ducked under the plastic lane dividers and swam out into the middle of the largest part of the pool. There he relaxed and just floated there on his back staring up at the high ceiling for a while before closing his eyes. He listened to his breathing as he floated and let his mind slip into a meditative zone.
This is what he needed. He knew that working out could only work so much of his stress out of him. He was so stubborn and busy that he didn't always take enough time to wind down. He was always on the go, always hustling his nightly drug deals, or he was up on the stage doing what he did best.
Tripp very often was an adrenaline junky and he knew it. It made him feel alive. A natural high. He didn't touch the stuff he carried with him in his jacket pockets. Well...that wasn't entirely true. He had made a bad habit of hooking up with a certain female when she was freshly high and would get a second hand high from her blood. It had gotten to the point that he felt like a junky himself. Tripp had recognized this and had cut himself off, cold turkey. Instead he threw himself into work and his workouts. Every now and then that electric blue haired girl would haunt his dreams and he wake up exhausted and sweaty. Unfortunately for Tripp lately it had been happening more often and it caused his mood to drift deeper and deeper into a pit of anger. It was only after he put a douche bag's head through a table for barely touching one of the dancers at the club, that he was pulled into the office and given the ultimatum to take a break or he'd be out for good.
Tripp left the club that night angry and it carried on into the next day and evening. It bubbled up from deep within him, a hot rage that he just couldn’t shake. He felt like he was going to come apart. When he woke after tossing and turning the entire day when he was supposed to be sleeping, he knew a workout was in order and eventually found himself being pulled toward the pool.
Tripp floated in the middle of the pool, unmoving while he concentrated on his breathing. In through his nose and out through his mouth.

A slow and steady ache in her left temple had been causing Laurel to hide behind shades as she leaned against the building. She was supposed to be picking up her sister who wanted to go swimming but had unfortunately found herself having a rather long winded conversation with her father. Laurel had become somewhat reckless the last few months after the incident with Oliver, and it meant that he wasn't as lenient on her taking her little sister places. Then again, hadn't she returned home just a few short hours ago from getting absolutely shit-faced at some party? The woman wasn't processing what had happened very well so she'd turned to alcohol and was slipping down that slippery slope back to drugs. Not that she would ever blame the man, but it really had started when she went to Tripp's dorm room to get something to ease the heartache that she felt. It wasn't because of his actions directly, but because she had made the decision to seek out drugs it had become increasingly easy once again to pop a few pills with whatever drink she was downing. Right now, she was just highly hungover. Her lips pursed as she watched her dad go back into the house and she pushed herself off of the wall. Whatever. If her father thought her that much of a loose canon that she couldn't watch her little sister, then she wouldn't bother at all. That was a lie though, Laurel loved Willow very much and wouldn't do anything to hurt her. She supposed that she probably wasn't the greatest influence at the moment, which she couldn't blame her father for holding against her. But this was a little ridiculous. They were going to the pool, not out to a party where Laurel'd get drunk and leave Willow alone and by herself. Laurel would never do that, no matter how fucked up she got. Her lips pursed as she decided to head to the pool anyways, the alternative was to go home and either pass out or start drinking again. Besides, the pool was by the gym and Tripp was sort of a gym rat, the chances she would run into him were fairly high. Laurel hadn't really talked to him too much about what happened the night she came incredibly drunk to his dorm room. The truth was she was afraid of what she had told the man, of what he knew, and she had decided that ignorance would be better than trying to talk about what had happened. She didn't want him to think her some sort of victim, and the woman felt sick to her stomach when she thought back on it. How she had crumbled so easily after it all had happened. All Laurel wanted to do was forget about it, partying was one surefire way that she would. At least for a little bit. Eventually the woman made it to the gym, shoving hands into the pockets of her shorts as she walked towards the pool. Her lips twitched into a slight smile as she realized that her assumption had been right. While he wasn't in the gym exactly, the woman spotted Tripp out in the pool. She hesitated a moment, her footsteps slowing and she willed herself to be silent. She almost didn't want to interrupt him, he looked like he was relaxed and part of her was rather jealous about that. She'd give anything to be able to relax at this point. Eventually the woman stopped staring long enough to move towards the edge of the pool, arms crossing over her chest as she dipped her foot in. She probably wasn't close enough to actually hit him with water, but the noise would be enough. She flicked her foot upwards, letting a spray of water cascade towards the man before planting it firmly back on the edge of the pool. "Surprise." The woman spoke dryly before settling herself down and letting her legs dangle into the water. "Didn't take you for the swimming type. Some reason, I imagined you sinking like a rock." She teased slightly as she leaned back on her hands. Words: idk i suck Outfit: Click!Notes: omg hopefully this works

Tripp let his mind wander while he floated. While his times are rest were filled with bad dreams, tossing and turning, Tripp was happy that he could take this time to relax and let him mind fill with thought that he had control over. First his mind filled with thoughts of Lexi. When he realized that he was becoming too dependent on her drug laced blood, he had started eliminating any biting to their hook ups. This had left Lexi disappointed and pissed, for she wasn't getting her fix too. The sex was...well it was just that, sex. It became another task, a set of motions and an empty satisfaction. When he started brushing her off she called upon him less and less until she wasn't calling him at all. He figured she found somewhere else to get her fixes, both drugs and being bitten. It had been months since their last contact and his moods had been volatile.
Tripp took another deep breath in and then back out, trying to push thoughts of the little druggie out of his mind. It had also been almost a year since his last letter from his little sister. His mind thought about the box of letters he kept hidden in his desk. He had read them over and over. There weren't too many letters but he had collected them over the years. The postage stamps coming from different locations every letter or two. Her handwriting matured as the letters progressed. They were filled with "how are you"s and "I am fine, traveling and seeing fun things"...never enough information for him to try and find her. Every time he visited the mail room at the dorm he hoped to find one of her letter amongst his junk mail and magazine subscriptions. Every month ticked by with no new letters.
He moved his arms gently in the water and continued to float. The sudden splash that caused a few water droplets to land on his chest and face startled him and he jerked up. The sudden movement made him loose his balance and floating ability and he struggled for a moment to keep from going under the water. He heard a familiar voice joke about him sinking like a rock. Tripp reached up with his right hand and wiped the water from his face. He had to blink a few times to clear his eyes and focused on Laurel standing at the edge of the pool. Then he did something he hadn't in a long time, he laughed lightly and smirked in her direction. This version of Laurel sure was a sight for sore eyes. Tripp had bumped into her several times at the club but she was always on something. He’d do his best to try and talk to her, to get her away from the craziness of the club crowd but it usually ended badly.
"I am surprisingly buoyant when I want to be." He replied to her, his voice echoing off the pool house walls. He playfully splashed some water in her direction, while his brain was trying to play catch up and mentally get past the surprise of suddenly seeing her. The first thing he noticed was the clarity of her eyes, they looked tired but still clear, and the sober stance of her body. He could tell she was a little hung over. It had been a while since he had seen her sober. He ducked under the water and propelled himself toward her direction, quickly closing the space between him and the edge of the pool where she sat. Tripp resurfaced right in front of her, popping out of the water he gave his head a shake before wiping the water from his eyes. “Hi…” He spoke softly as he placed a hand on either side of her gripping the edge of the pool. His smirk bordered on being an actual smile, dimples showing themselves and all.
His muscles in his arms twitched as he fought back the urge to pull her into the pool with him. For now he would let her sit there undisturbed. It did his soul some good to be able to take in the view of her. It had been too long since they shared a shower in his dorm room after she had woken from a pretty bad night. Tripp had been internally tormenting himself for being the one who gave into her need for an escape from reality. It seemed like from there it had just been downhill. To see her right now, slightly hungover but okay, was something he really needed at the moment. He was feeling better and that made him feel playful, but he would get to that in a little bit if their encounter allowed it.
“It’s been a while…” He let his voice trail off. He knew it hadn’t actually been that long, he’d just bumped into her a weekend or two ago but he meant it had been a long time since she was sober around him.

The woman had to admit that there was a slight sort of satisfaction to watch the man flounder for a few minutes after she'd sent the spray of water crashing over his face and chest. The woman hadn't really seen Tripp as anything other than confident, arrogant even. So it was a bit amusing to see him flounder if even for a brief moment. Her smirk softened into something less stern as the man ended up laughing low at her antics. She'd been a bit worried, in truth, that the man wouldn't spurn her for showing up nearly out of the blue. Laurel wasn't an idiot, while she spent most of her nights out of her mind she could remember some of the things that had happened. Such as her vehement refusal to let him drag her from the club. Probably to help sober her up. She hadn't wanted that and so she'd been rather bitchy to the man. Apparently he wasn't going to hold it against her. Hopefully. The woman settled down on the edge of the pool, tossing her sandals back away from the edge and letting the cool water rush over her feet and lean calves. While the man swam over she reached up to push her hair out of her face in an attempt to calm her racing heart. Laurel tried to pretend that she was all cool confidence, but when it came to Tripp he had seen so much of her that she was nearly scared of what the man was capable of doing to her. Laurel still wasn't sure how much he knew about what had happened to her and the thought that he was privy to something that was very much the worst night of her life unsettled her. "Hi." She replied back with a soft smile as the man surfaced in front of her, placing her hands on either side of her thighs. Her legs stilled as she looked at the man, sharp blue eyes trying to discern what the man was thinking. Sober Laurel hadn't had a conversation with Trip for a long while and she wondered if he resented her for the way that she treated him, for how she had so easily brushed the man away. Laurel had started hanging out with less than savory people and they'd all been more than happy to encourage her inebriated behavior. Unfortunately Laurel had been all to willing to give into that, instead of listening to probably one of the only people who actually wanted good things for her. Right now, it didn't matter. Laurel couldn't change what had happened, though the chances that she would change what would happen were slim. She'd fallen off the wagon again and now that she had an actual reason to seek out drugs she wasn't exactly interested in giving them up. The woman looked away with his words, knowing that it had been nothing but her fault for the fact that they had seemingly drifted apart. Laurel hadn't known what to classify the two of them as before, when all she could think about was the night in the furniture shop and all she wanted was to spend time around the man. Now? Now she wasn't sure that he still even wanted anything to do with her. Then again, her mind hadn't been clear in a very long time so she'd given little thought to them. Eventually the woman's eyes tilted back towards the man, offering him a small and perhaps hopeful smile. "Yeah. Sorry about that." She offered up perhaps a bit shortly. She really didn't want to talk about why it had been a long time since they really had talked. When she wasn't drugged out of her mind. "Not getting into trouble I hope?" She asked, offering a slight sheepish smile towards the man. Words: 645 Outfit: Click!Notes: here you are!

His heart sank a bit when she looked away from him. It wasn’t his intention to pick a fight with her or to make her feel badly. Tripp usually did those kinds of things to others, but he did not want to do them to her, not when he knew she was battling some pretty shitty internal demons. She apologized unnecessarily and he shook his head a little as he let out a bit of a sigh. “No, don’t.” He said it so quietly that is was almost inaudible. He looked up at her and he swallowed back the urge to pull her to him so that he could take her lips with his. Tripp was always in control of urges…or so he liked to believe.
He pushed himself away from the pool wall and moved over to her right where he used the edge of the pool to pull himself up and out of the water, bringing some of the pool water up with him creating a puddle. He sat himself on the ledge of the pool as well, legs dangling in the water. He had to fight back the urge to kick some water at her. It would have been payback for her surprising him while he floated in the middle of the pool. Instead he shook his head again spraying some water droplets off in every direction. “Me?” He used his hands to flick some water in her direction. “You know me Laurel…” He shrugged his shoulders and threw her a coy smile. “I never get into trouble.” He used his hands to squeegee some of the water off his chest and arms before playfully sending some more of it in Laurel’s direction. Tripp tugged at his swim trunks, trying to release them from the skintight state they were in as he tried to get comfortable sitting on the scratchy concrete of the pool ledge.
“What are you up to?” He raised a brow as he continued “This isn’t your usual scene.” He was slowly kicking his feet back and forth in the water, nothing too joyous. It was a little weird to be talking to her, like actually talking. No arguing. No accusing. Just conversation. He wasn’t sure if he should tip toe around her or if he should play it off cool as if they hadn’t have been on rocky terms lately. He sure as hell didn’t want to send her running for the door.
His fingers drummed lightly beside him as he lean back a little, his muscular arms supporting him. Tripp was never one to be nervous, he just found himself in a weird place this evening. He glanced at her, then the pool and back again contemplating how angry she might be if he pulled her into the pool with him.
He sat up straighter and nudge her with his elbow. “Admit it…ya just missed the shit outta me.” There is was, his signature arrogantly confident demeanor. He winked and grinned at her, trying to lighten the mood. Words: 506 Muse: all over the damn place Notes: sorry so short!

Maybe it was the guilt that was welling up within her, or maybe she was too ashamed, but the woman kept her eyes firmly planted away from the man as he spoke. He deserved an apology, Laurel knew that was true. She'd been out of control lately and while she had no intentions of stopping, that didn't mean that she knew he didn't deserve the way that she had been treating him. Laurel had been absolutely convinced that she could handle the one time in the dorm room, she was sure that once she'd had one night of peace that she could shoulder the nightmares that plagued her. Truth was, she wasn't strong enough. Not by herself. But the last thing she'd do was ask for help. Unfortunately it ran in her family. Her father Angelo was the most stubborn man that she'd ever met, and she didn't even know what sort of category to put her grand=father in. The Forsyth's were a bunch of stubborn assholes that tended to hurt people more than they flourished when it came to relationships. Laurel couldn't swallow her pride enough to let someone else help her. She was convinced that she'd find her feet eventually but right now she wasn't having nightmares. When she could handle them, she'd stop the drugs and stop drinking so much. But now? She wasn't sure she could handle anything. As he moved the woman's eyes snapped back to him. Part of her was concerned that he was going to leave as he hauled himself out of the pool and onto the edge. She shifted slightly, if only because the puddle he created had decided to invade her space. Her anxiety eased as he settled in next to her instead of getting up and leaving. Which he had every right to do if she she was being truthful. She'd been nothing but a raging bitch to him on many occasions and all he'd done was be concerned for her. Her lips pulled into an involuntary smile as the man flicked water at her, a hand lifting to shield herself from the droplets as a low chuckle left her. It was easy, to smile at him, and now that she was Laurel found herself unable to stop. "Mhmm, you know, for some reason I just can't believe that." She spoke, sarcasm thick in her voice though her tone remained playful. "I'm pretty sure you're made of trouble." She threw at him, lips still quirked into a smile as she leaned closer to the man. Laurel paused a moment, eyes flickering out to the pool as she mulled over how to respond to his question. She could keep it simple, vague, and perhaps not inform the man that even her father knew how bad she was. Or she could tell him the truth of it, because he deserved it. Not once did she think that the truth might make him believe her behavior was his fault. It wasn't, it was hers, and she knew that. "I was supposed to bring Willow here to swim today." She told him, shrugging a shoulder as if the idea of not spending time with her little sister wasn't a big deal to her, when in fact it was yet another thing to add to the weight on her shoulders. "Dad doesn't think she should be around me. You know, because I'm out of control." She spoke bluntly, sarcasm dripping thickly from her words. The truth hurt, that she couldn't hide from no matter how much sarcasm she dipped into her words. Her smile was quick to return with the man's nudge and she glanced back at the man, eyes scouring his face. "You know what, yeah. I did miss you." It didn't change the fact that right now she was a stubborn junkie asshole, but maybe he'd appreciate the fact that she did think about him. You know, right before she pops a pill and forgets where she's at and who's she's with and that sort of thing. Words: 645 Outfit: Click!Notes: four a.m. posts are the best (not)

Tripp wasn’t an idiot, he could feel the irritation radiating off of her when she explained that she was supposed to be taking her little sister swimming. Perhaps her father had a point. Laurel hadn’t been herself for quite a while now, maybe the thought of not getting to see her little sister would sober her up. The subject of sisters made Tripp’s heart ache. There were too many what-ifs when he thought about his own younger sister. Tripp thought he’d better change the subject quickly and teased her about missing him. She returned his playful nudge and a smile once again spread across her face. She admitted to missing him and it made his heart leap a little in his chest.
“Yeah?” His grin widened and he leaned a little closer to her. His lungs filled with the scent of her and his teeth grabbed the inside of his bottom lip. Memories of soft kisses on shoulders, neck and lips in a steamy shower flooded in. Every part of him felt anticipation as he glance down at her lips and back up to her eyes. He should wait. She probably wanted her space. Tripp wasn’t even one hundred percent sure of where they even stood with each other. It didn’t matter. He could feel his breathing quicken and that was it. The distance between them quickly vanished as he gave in, taking his left hand up to touch the side of her face before his lips overcame hers.
His fingers slid around the nape of her neck and intertwined themselves in her hair for a just-gentle-enough-not-to-hurt grip. He had missed her more than he had realized and he deepened the kiss just enough to satisfy his hunger for her. His other arm reached out and wrapped around her waist as he pulled her closer to him. Tripp needed her closer. He missed the weight of her on his lap, he missed the feeling of her soft lips against his, he missed her smooth skin beneath his fingers and with all of those things right here, right now he suddenly feel like he might explode. Control. He needed better control, so he released her lips, tailed kisses down her jaw and buried his face in the crook of her neck where he playfully nipped her skin.
He could hear his heart beat in his ears and it felt like every part of him was on fire. It was a rush he hadn’t experienced in a very long time. So long that he had wondered if he had imagined any of the other times he had felt this way.
Trying to regain his composure, Tripp brushed his lips up and down the curve of her neck. His arms both now encircled her waist. A light chuckle escaped him. “I…I ah…missed you too.” He spoke, his words tickling her neck.
He took a deep breath and leaned back just enough so he could see her face. A wicked grin spread quickly over his flushed lips and mischievousness sparkled in his eyes. Tripp loosened his grip on her waist and his hands held her by the hips. “Wanna join me in the pool?” He teased lifting her up and off of his lap. Tripp didn’t even give her a moment to reply before he launched her toward the water. She was probably going to be so pissed, but he literally could not help himself.
Words: 571 Muse: ridiculous Notes: I'm totally leaving it open on whether or not she has the time to grab one of his arms as he starts to toss her in the pool. It could backfire and he could end up being pulled in to the water too. *shrug* up to you! He Couldn't help himself with the kissing. Crazy horny man.

There was something in the way that the man looked at her that tended to make her forget herself. Laurel had long come to the conclusion that she was absolutely attracted to the man. It was more than just his muscles, or the tattoo's, or the dimples on his face. It was the way that she saw him looking at her. It seemed more than just the hungry stare of someone who just wanted to get some. With Tripp, she felt less of a need to watch herself, control her impulses because he would always be there to help her. He'd never pushed her before, never asked for anything more than what she'd allowed and if she had appreciated it before, it was something that nearly endeared him to her now. Laurel gave a small nod of her head in confirmation, though she knew he didn't need it. That night that she'd shown up in his dorm room completely shit-faced had been borne from more than just her need to make it all go away, to get drugged up and pass out. She needed to be around someone she could trust, someone who she knew wouldn't do anything to hurt her. They might not have spent much time together previously, but the truth of it was, Laurel had decided to trust him that very first meeting. He could have taken advantage of her, pushed her further than she wanted to go, or completely ignored her when she decided she wasn't intending on putting out. But he didn't, for whatever reasons he had, and Laurel had found herself trusting the man. Her eyes dipped down to his lips briefly as his left hand cupped her face, and she was nearly as eager as the man was for the kiss. It was easy, to lean into the kiss and let it consume her. Let it beat out any other vices that were swimming around in her head at the moment. She leaned into him, easily helping him shift her to his lap as her arms encircled the man's neck. She nearly found herself groaning in indignation when the man pulled back, though her eyes remained closed as he trailed kisses down her neck and ended up nipping the skin that met between her neck and shoulder. She hummed low in her throat in approval, her head tilting to rest against the side of his as she found herself relaxing into the man. Her grip loosened on him and her lips parted to let out a breath she thought she had been holding in for years. "I noticed." She spoke lowly, voice slightly hoarse as her lips curled into a smile. She leaned back as he did, eyes scouring his face as a little smile played on her lips, hands shifting to rest on his broad shoulders. Her brow quirked with his question and before she even had a chance to answer the man was lifting her up, and throwing her backwards. Without her permission, an ungodly shriek left the woman as she splashed back into the water, barely closing her mouth quick enough to avoid accidentally getting pool water in her lungs. She floundered beneath the surface for a moment before her leg's kicked out and she broke the surface, inhaling deeply before her hand reached up to clear water from her eyes. Her brows furrowed and she nearly glared at the man as she worked on treading water. "You're such an asshole" She told him, trying to remain stern and irritated, but she couldn't help but laugh. When was the last time she'd been tossed in a pool like that? Not since she was a small child, gleefully shrieking as her father hauled her out of the pool and threw her back in over and over again. And hadn't she planned on doing that to Willow? Though, to be fair, Laurel was going to jump in with her, not just toss her in on her own. Regardless, the woman couldn't help but be amused, her lips curling into a smile. A smile that turned a bit flirty as she brushed a few strands of wet hair back. "Good luck getting your hands on me again." She called out, voice sly before she was ducking beneath the water as her hands and feet propelled her away from the man. She resurfaced on the other side of a lane divider and turned her head to peer back behind her while rubbing the water from her eyes. She laughed as she scoured the pool for the man, her lips tugging into a grin. Words: 773 Outfit: Click!Notes: ugh so much muse

Throwing her in the pool was a dick thing to do, especially when he had given no forethought to what on her person would get soaked as she landed in the water. Tripp didn't really consider the possibility of a cell phone or anything else of importance being in her pockets as he lifted her up and launched her into the air. As he sat there is eyes following her decent into the water, he suddenly had a brief realization that she could come up and be extremely pissed at him, that he could have possibly just ruined any shred of peace they had just developed. event though she had mentioned her previous plans were to go swimming her couldn't be sure if she even wanted to get wet now and that him throwing her into the pool could have been disastrous. Tripp was not the one to think things through, he was very much a spur of the moment person.
His train of though did finally bump into the idea that he could have just ruined anything in her pockets, a cell phone or anything else that would be ruined in the water. He quickly concluded that he would just replace anything material that he ruined. Material things were replaceable...but that shriek that she emitted while hurdling through the air was priceless.
His cocky grin almost faltered as she surfaced looking quite upset with him, but she ended up cracking her facade and laughed at him. Then she called him an ass hole and all he could do was shrug. "Yeah...but you like me anyway" he called after her across the pool as he kicked some water her direction. She was smiling at him and teased that he wasn't going to be able to catch her and before he knew it she went back under the water.
Of course Tripp took it as a challenge. If she wanted to play chase then he would play. He was in a good enough mood for it. While she was under he quickly got up from his spot on the edge of the pool and backed away from the pool, his eye searching for where she would pop up. His knees bent, his arms poised by his sides, his whole body got ready to run and jump back into the pool. He just needed to land close to where Laurel would surface.
His eyes quickly found her when she came up just on the other side of the floating lane dividers. he was suddenly in motion, strong legs accelerated him toward her direction. Just as he reached the pool's edge, he launched himself up and into the air. Tripp pulled his knees up into a perfectly executed cannon ball and landed close enough to Laurel to rock her personal space with a shit ton of water.
After his body entered the water, he unfurled his legs and kicked them to push himself back up to the surface of the water. He broke the surface of the water, filling his lungs with air before he shook his head and wiped the water from his eyes. Ever grinning he looked towards Laurel. His closest arm reached out to grab onto any part of her he could. "Come'ere" he playfully growled. He was more than eager to continue what he started before he had tossed her into the pool.
To say he was pent up would be an understatement.
