Vincent stood in front of the mirror in his room to take one last look at himself. His flight had came in early and he had a little extra time on his hands. So he took that time to take a decent shower and dress in one of his best suits. God he was nervous. There was a good reason to be after all. He smoothed out his shirt and tie again while looking at himself in the mirror. How did he become so lucky? Meeting Tabby at the school was like a dream, a very very good dream. He kept expecting to wake up and she’d be gone. Thankfully that wasn’t the case and she wasn’t going anywhere. Just the thought of her made him smile. He missed her terribly. Having been called away to another school to help fill in a great absence was something he could not avoid. She had understood and he was very grateful for that.
At least he didn’t look tired after taking a last minute flight out of Paris. He had a mini fridge in his room and had a drink before getting into the shower. Tonight was not a night to be crazy thirsty. It was such a wonderful surprise he had planned. He only felt a little bad for telling Tabby that he would be home a few days later from today. He really wanted to surprise her. Vincent even enlisted in the help of a few other Vampires and students that he trusted to get everything all set up without her knowing. There was a part of the library filled with her favorite flowers and about a million candles. He needed tonight to be perfect so she would always remember it. He patted the little box in his jacket pocket and smiled before he left the bathroom. He snagged his jacket off its hanger and slid it on, just a few buttons and he was ready. Ok, deep breath.
He made his way out of his room and down the halls. He knew that Tabby was busy at the moment and a smile slipped across his lips as he thought about it. It really was a good plan. There was a student that was in on the whole event, a student that Vincent had really tutored a lot. He was asking for extra help from Tabby to give Vincent enough time to get to the library before her. Vincent quickly ducked past a few students and slipped into the library. It looked spectacular but he couldn’t help the butterflies in his stomach. To try and help calm his nerves he took a deep breath in through his nose and out through his mouth. It’s going to be fine. It’ll be great. He reassured himself over and over.
Vincent slipped out his cell and sent a text to the student to finish up. The next text was sent to another Professor. That Professor was to text Tabby and ask for her help in the library, sending her right to where Vincent needed her. It was a good plan. Now all he had to do was wait. He rubbed his hands together and looked around. All the candles were lit and the flowers filled the room with a wondrous smell. He had a little bottle of blood and champagne mix. He heard it was a nice combination, but had never tired it before. Hopefully it was awful. A nervous chuckle escaped him. It was too late to worry about that now.
Was he forgetting anything? Quickly he ran the list in his head and his light blue eyes surveyed the room. Music. That was it. He was missing the light classical music in the background. After a moment of looking he located the radio set up behind some draped fabric and he smiled. It really paid off to know most of the students in this school. Tech savvy students sure did come in handy. He pressed the play button and adjusted the volume to a level so that it would just be heard quietly in the back ground. The setup of hidden surround speakers created the last little bit of atmosphere. Perfect. He leaned against the only table left in that area of the library. Now all he had to do was wait. Could this day get any longer?! Now Tabby really did love to talk to her students, she did, she loved them. But today was not a good day. Classes today couldn't have been worse. Nobody wanted to pay attention, and if they were they were waiting for her to dismiss them. She yelled at her fifth period class because her others nearly drove her nuts. Then rehearsals after school ran long because no one remembered their lines. It was just a horrible horrible day and she wanted it over and done with.
Then one of her students decided to talk to her after rehearsals. Great, just great. All Tabitha wanted was a big glass of wine and a hot bath. Now she had to talk to a student. At least he was asking for help, that made her smile a bit and her day just a bit brighter. But still, she was exhausted. She just wanted to go to her room and sleep.
She didn't mind helping the student, no! She loved her students and would do anything for them, so she'd just put on a face and act -literally- like she was happy to help. Though after an hour or so and after Tabby asked if they were fine the student nodded and ran off. She slumped back into her chair and ran her hands over her face, sighing deeply.
She missed Vincent, completely missed him. She couldn't wait for him to come home in a few days. She missed everything about him and was, unfortunately, a bit grumpy because of it. It had been what felt like ages since she last saw him. Her heart ached she missed him so much. But, she could last another few days, because she knew he would be home soon enough.
Just as she stood up to go back to her room her cellphone buzzed, the tone indicating it was a professor. Groaning she looked at the text to see that someone needed help in the library. She bit her lip and huffed loudly, sending a text back saying she'd be there shortly. Tabby ran a hand through her red hair, her hair had fallen out of the bun it was in hours ago. It fell to her shoulders as she walked down to the library, her feet screaming in the heels that she wore but she ignored the pain as much as she could. Her blazer was unbuttoned after the long day and she really just felt like today would never end.
She walked past a few students as she entered the building, going to the back of the library where the professor asked her to go. As she walked closer her ears picked up the sound of classical music, which confused her. Why would someone be playing music in a library? Then the smell of her favorite flowers hit her nose and her pace quickened, her heart nearly bursting out of her chest. No, he wasn't back, he couldn't be.
Tabby turned the corner to see that there were candles everywhere, illuminating the space, but the only thing she could focus on was the man leaning on the table. She let her eyes slowly travel around the room, not letting herself look at his face just yet. Purple tulips were everywhere, her favorite flower, and the candles gave the room a warm glow. The music in the background continued to play and Tabby felt her frown turn into a small smile. But she wasn't done looking around just yet. She looked her love over, smiling a little more as she saw he was wearing purple, to match the flowers. As her eyes looked up into his her face immediately lit up and her small smile took over her entire face. "Vincent..." The professor, who usually could keep calm under any situation, ran across the space and threw her arms around his neck in a tight hug, tears threatened to fall from her eyes as she kissed his cheek, completely and utterly happy. "I can't believe you're home." She whispered, sniffing slightly. Words: 675 Muse: Finally!! She cooperated with me Sorry to keep you waiting Outfit: Click hereNotes: OMGOMGOMGOMG!!! To say he was nervous was putting it lightly, Vincent had never felt so damned nervous in his entire existence. It felt like had been gone for ages, yet it had only been about a year. He tried so hard to stay in touch with Tabby through phone calls, letters and gifts that he thought she’d like. There still was this tiny lingering doubt that she might change her mind about him. Had he changed? No. he didn’t think so…at least not any changes in a bad way. Being with Tabby made him feel more confident, more satisfied than he ever had been before. Those were all good things. Trying to keep his mind off of all his tiny worried Vincent picked at a piece of finger nail. Damn. He should have brought finger nail clippers or at least a little emery board. Approaching footsteps made him look up from his fingers.
His eyes immediately fell on her as she approached. A line of worry began to form on his brow when he noticed her tired state. Oh no, she looked so worn down from the day. This made him feel so awful, he should have given her time to rest. Yet she was smiling, he must had done something right. That smile on those beautiful lips made the twinge of regret quickly disappear. A smile quickly spread across his face as she threw herself at him. “My Love.” He wrapped his arms around her middle and returned her hug. He took a deep breath, breathing in the scent of her. How he had missed that, so much. Vincent had closed his eyes and buried his face in her hair, just for a moment before she pulled back to kiss him on the cheek. Those light blue eyes blinked open and he studied her face. Tears? No that wouldn’t do! He reached up to gently wipe her cheeks. “Don’t cry Lass…” He placed a soft kiss on her forehead. “Aye, I’ve missed you terribly.”
He could have stood there all night, just keeping her wrapped up in his arms, but instead he leaned back from her a little. “How about a drink?” He looked at her raising his brows a little, he would do anything to make her night better, it was clearly written all over his face. As much as he wanted to take her lips he placed one more kiss on the forehead before releasing her. He turned and pulled the blood champagne bottle from the bucket of ice, wrapping the outside with a linen towel. A smile was directed her way. “I bet ye are ready for a drink right about now?” He winked and popped the cork. Skillfully without spilling a drop he pour two flutes full and handed one to her. Here is to hoping it didn’t taste like crap. “Here you go…take that edge off of the night?”
Where were his manners? It sudden dawned on him that they were just standing there, when there were perfectly good chairs right there. “Oh your feet must be tired! Here…” He was really a little scatterbrained tonight! He tugged out a comfortable library chair for her, waiting until she would be seated before sitting in a chair right next to hers. “Sorry.” He couldn’t help but apologies as he took his seat. “I’ve missed you so much, I’m not sure where my mind is tonight.” Nervously he took a sip of his glass, taking a moment to think about the taste. To be honest it wasn’t too bad, nothing like a good wine though…maybe it was the bubbles? He mentally shook himself, focus man. “So love, how has your day been?”
Trying to start a conversation to distract her from what he really had up his sleeve, or rather in his pocket, wasn’t the most original plan…but he did want to know how she was doing. It would give him time to rehearse in his mind what he wanted to say. He had to get this right. He wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if he managed to screw it up. He took another drink trying to act natural.

She heard him speak and she let the tears that pricked her eyes fall fully. She missed him so much. She hugged him even tighter for a moment before she let herself kiss his cheek. She missed those blue eyes of his, she missed everything about him. She laughed softly as he told her not to cry, his fingers brushing away her tears. She sighed as he kissed her forehead and smiled softly. “I’m so glad you’re home.” She told him again, hugging him tighter than before. She didn’t want to let him go but he pulled away a bit and asked if she’d like a drink. She laughed and nodded. “I’d love one.” [/b] She smiled as he placed one more kiss on her forehead before he pulled away to pour her drink. She looked around for a moment and picked up one of the flowers, inhaling its scent. She loved tulips, and was very happy that he remembered her favorite flower after so long. She smiled as he took the bottle out of the ice and giggled as he winked. He opened the bottle and she laughed a bit when she realized that it was champagne, and when the smell of blood hit her nose she smiled even more. She took the glass from him and smiled, “Thank you, I didn’t know they made champagne with blood mixed in, it smells good.”[/b] She smiled, taking a sip of champagne from her glass. She was pleasantly surprised at the taste. Nothing beat a good red wine and bubble bath after a long day but she would take champagne and an evening talking to Vincent over a bath any day. Vincent got the cutest look on his face when he thought he wasn’t using his manners. To be honest Tabitha forgot that her feet were killing her in her heels until he mentioned it. “How’d you know?”[/b] She asked, a slightly teasing tone in her voice. She smiled as he pulled out a seat for her and she thanked him before sitting down, a sigh escaping her lips as her feet were no longer supporting her in the heels she wore. She was very tempted to kick them off her feet but they were in the library, not in her room. He apologized for not thinking to seat them sooner but she shrugged it off. “Don’t apologize, I would have stood for another few hours if it meant getting to hug you longer.”[/b] She smiled, feeling like a giddy teenager again. She loved that he made her feel this way, he helped her have fun. She loved that about him. He just made her feel so happy, so carefree. She smiled as he continued to explain himself, taking another sip from her champagne. “I’ve missed you too, I haven’t smiled this much in ages.”[/b] She leaned back in her seat slightly, relaxing into the chair. “You’re probably jetlagged. When did your plane get in?”[/b] She asked, looking at the color of the champagne for a moment. It was pink, instead of the usual yellow that she remembered champagne looking. She couldn’t remember the last time she had champagne, probably back when she was still a stage actress in New York. It didn’t matter, it was still a refreshing change from the usual after school drinks she had. He asked her about her day and she turned her body so she could talk to him better. “It was very long. The students seemed like they didn’t want to listen and rehearsals after school almost drove me mad. Nobody remembered their lines, it was awful. Then, bless the student that came to ask for help, I almost bit his poor head off.”[/b] She ran her hand over her face, being careful to not smudge her eye makeup any more than it probably already was. “I had to literally act like I was in the mood to help him. Though I have a feeling that sending that student to ask for help was your doing because he did not need it.”[/b] She smiled at Vincent, taking another sip of her drink. “But, aside from the horrible day the students gave me, my evening is much better.”[/b] She smiled at him, though the back of her mind was buzzing. He seemed nervous, why was he nervous? He was usually very calm and relaxed around her, which helped her to relax, but today he just seemed ready to jump out of his skin.[/blockquote] Words: 747 (haha like the plane XD) Muse: SHE FINALLY WOKE UP I AM SOOOOOOOOOO SORRY Notes: No comments on how long this took.
