[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low Today had been a good day for Aphy which wasn't saying much because she had good days often. Nearly every day was a good day for her so saying that Seraphi had a good day was not a new thing. Now if she had said she had a bad day, that would be cause for concern, because Seraphi just didn't have bad days. And today was not a bad day, not at all! She had taken a stroll around the school, popping into random classrooms when she saw a few of her friends, which seemed to be a common thing, she'd 'sneak' in and say hello and run out. She thought she was being sneaky, like a ninja! But the truth of the matter was, she wasn't sneaky, though she didn't particularly interrupt anyone. She said hello, gave a quick hug, and then ran off. She was suppose to be doing something for Andrew, getting some papers of some sort but she had become way to distracted and had instead gone around the entire school in search for all her friends she had met and made.
And now she was, frankly, tuckered out and ready for a nap. She really had literally been running around the school and now she was tired. But she was going to wait for Andrew to get done with his last class before she and him went home. So she decided that she'd wait for him and by that she meant she was going to plop down in the middle of the hallway, humming to herself as she waited. Which of course never would last very long and before long she was popping up, eager to go find something to occupy her time more than sitting down and humming was currently. And that consisted of more running around the halls. Ki had taken her through the vents the other day, but Aphy couldn't figure out how to get into them. It didn't particularly matter to Seraphi, there were things that she just couldn't do, she knew that and she was most certainly okay with it. She did what she could and she was content with that, besides most of the time she found her friends and she was so very happy to have them around that it didn't matter that she couldn't do certain things.
Skipping down the hall Seraphi found herself letting out a yawn, maybe she should go get some food! Food would help wake her up. The halls were oddly empty, not that it was incredibly odd to her, class WAS in session, but there didn't seem to be a lot of people around, usually there were a few students who were running to do something, or a professor around. She hadn't seen Andrew for a while, he hadn't come looking for her and so she just assumed he was fine with whatever he was doing and she was free to do as she pleased. Which included skipping down the hall and humming to herself. Humming seemed to be a past-time for her, though she tended to break out in song whenever she was out of the school. It wasn't polite to skip down the hall, belting out a random song while others were trying to learn, she knew that! She had to be reminded a few times before she'd remember to hum, she never MEANT to annoy anyone, or disrupt people, she just kind of forgot. But it was okay now, she wouldn't do that anymore.
Seraphi was her own special person, unique and utterly her own self. She didn't think that skipping down empty hallways was odd, she didn't think that the fact she was so easily distracted was a hindrance or that it was annoying. Seraphi had faults, lord knows she had them, but her faults were not pondered about, her faults were not constantly worried about, she didn't spend time trying to hide them, or trying to pretend she didn't have any. Instead she simply was Aphy. She loved people, it didn't matter if she had just met them, or knew them for a long time, if she deemed you a friend that was that. And she deemed many people friends. There was no hate in her heart, she didn't quite understand how one could hate another, but that was the beauty of Seraphi, the pure and untainted innocence that was so strong that not even the fact she could SEE hate could cause her heart to decay in any way. She loved without judgement, she was filled with compassion, and she let everyone know it.
She enjoyed spending time with others, especially those with brilliant bonds, she loved the Academy for that reason, even if she wasn't quite aware of it. Her favorite kind of bond where the blue ones, the ones that were just starting to blossom. They were such a pure beautiful blue that even if they didn't quite fit they still were brilliant in their own right. They were possible beginnings, the start of relationships, whether they bloomed to love, or friendship or even broke apart and become black and withered, they all started at that brilliant blue that captured Aphy every time. She loved the color blue, could stare at it all day. Her eyes were blue, so was the tattoo that encompassed most of her torso. Blue was the symbol of beginnings to Seraphi, it symbolized the possibility for greater things. She liked that, the thought that something so pretty could become something grand and beautiful. Blue was on her mind as she skipped right out of the building, heading off in a random direction.
Her travels took her to the east wall, which she loved, because she could climb the trees there! It was so much fun! The minute she spotted one of the tall trees she beamed, forgetting what was on her mind and running full out, not caring how silly she looked. And when she got to the tree she started up it. Problem was, sometimes Aphy didn't like coming down, or really she got a bit scared by how high she got. Silly child. Hopefully Andrew would find her soon before she gets stuck in the tree all night!

The winter air was just crisp enough for make Tripp slip on one of his leather jackets before leaving his dorm. He had been a good little student and went to his classes for the night, well most of his classes. The last two really didn’t appeal to him and a good percentage of the time he just skipped them. Somehow he managed to keep good grades in them anyway, either his processors liked him or they were too scared to give him bad grades. Either way he was passing with good scores and it allowed him more free time and that was something that he liked very much. Tonight was one of those nights. He slipped out while in-between classes and no one gave him a second glance.
It hadn’t taken him nearly as long to run his nightly errand as he thought. The quick trip to Indulgence to find a little prick that owed him money went well. The little douche bag was sitting at the bar ordering another round when Tripp came upon him. Recalling the look of terror on the bastard’s face made a smile tug at the corners of his mouth. Not a single soul stopped him as he grabbed that bleach blonde playboy’s popped collar and dragged him out the back door. It had startled a couple dancers that had gone out for a smoke break, but with just a few smooth words they went back into the club a little less shaken then they could have been. No one stopped him from taking both kneecaps out with his baseball bat. It was so nice to have a place where he was allowed to do what he wanted and no one ever said a fucking thing about it. Indulgence was his haven when he wasn’t in the academy’s walls.
Black boots crunched over a few discarded twigs from some fallen trees. He was getting close to the East wall his favorite place to hop over to get back into the Academy. After tugging his beanie back down a little to cover his ears he pulled a cigarette from his pack and placed it between his lips. He would wait until he skillfully scaled the wall and sat atop it before he pulled his lighter out and lit the end of it. A deep drag pulled the smoke into his lungs and he took a second to look around. There wasn’t much going on outside tonight. Classes must still be in session.
Tripp has kicked both his legs over, breathing smoke out his nose and looked down contemplation just hopping down from there when he spotted her. A girl had come skipping, yes literally skipping out of one of the near buildings and was headed his way. Brows furrowed with a bit of thought, who in the world skips anymore? Seriously? Kids…gays…apparently this chick, mentally he answered himself. Naturally Tripp arched his back, listening to his spine pop in response. He really needed to see the local chiropractor, but it could wait until another night. Instead he kept his gaze on the girl as she approached the tree. She didn’t seem familiar to him and he knew almost everyone around here, she must not be one of his customers.
He pulled another drag and blew a few smoke rings, having now decided he would just stay put where he was. Watching her climb the tree was a little amusing. What on earth was she thinking? She looked ridiculous in those fuzzy boots. It was just like a woman to be trying to climb a tree in fuzzy fucking boots. He would sit there quietly in the dark and wait until she got herself situated. He wasn’t being a stalker, he was there first. “What the fuck are you doing in a god damned tree?” [/i] He spoke loudly from his dark spot on the wall, without a care whether or not it would spook her enough for her to fall. Ok, he had thought about that and he pictured how humorous it might be to watch. It appeared to him that she was way too happy to be climbing a tree. The only other person he knew that acted like that was his personal blue haired junkie, but this chick didn’t look like the junkie type. So she skips and happily climbs trees…maybe she is crazy? Got knocked in the head too hard? It was odd. So he sat there, smirk starting on his lips and tapped the ash of his cigarette. He’d just have to find out. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low Yes. The fuzzy boots made it a bit difficult to clamber up the tree. But if we were being honest Seraphi was pretty much a monkey. She scrambled up the tree, humming to herself, expecting to be completely and utterly alone. She wore no gloves, but it didn't bother her, she didn't mind the cold bark and she hauled herself up onto a branch, plopping down and pushing her hair out of her face, her fuzzy booted feet starting to swing. Oh she was very very content to sit here, looking at the building, and admittedly until Andrew came to help her down. She always got up so easily, she was addicted to it really, but getting down was a whole other thing. Of course falling off was a sure way to get down, which when the voice called out to her she let out a shriek, jumping into the air and scrambling to catch herself before she fell.
Oh no! She wrapped an arm around the branch, but she had slipped off, and for a moment she dangled from the branch, and absolute look of pure terror on her face at the prospect of falling. But she didn't, because she clung to that branch like a champ, the voice that startled her was forgotten for the moment as she spent a moment scrambling back onto the branch. She blinked then, peering into the darkness for the source of what had startled her so off the branch, her eyes wide when she finally spotted him. "You scared me!" But it wasn't accusing, not in the least, and a huge grin had found its way to her face. She probably wouldn't have accused him of anything even if she had fallen straight from the tree. "Why are you hiding in the dark mister?" By this time she was oh so carefully trying to make her way from the branch of the tree to the wall. "Do you like the dark? I like the dark sometimes" Grins at him as she hops onto another branch, obviously her fear of falling having completely gone out of the window once she started talking to the man.
"I like to hide and scare Andrew, it's funny! But sometimes he finds me first, cause he knows all my hiding spots" Her face scrunched up and she paused for a moment. " I should find new hiding spots" And with that thought her agenda for the next day had been settled. She looked from her branch to the wall, wondering briefly if she could jump. She would have tried too, but his question popped into her mind and she looked back over at him, beaming. "I like climbing in the trees! It's so much fun." And that was that. Instead of trying to leap from the branch to the wall she simply sat down, her feet swinging again. "I'm Seraphi! But you can call me Aphy." Everyone called her Aphy, she hadn't had a person use her full name while talking to her in a very long time. She could briefly remember her father using her full name, the man who had raised Seraphi could bear to call her anything else. Any pet names were terms of endearment, and he tolerated the girl at best.
Seraphi didn't know that though, she thought of her father fondly, even though he had left her by herself in the forest when he found out that she was going through transition. It was damn lucky that Andrew took her in. She wouldn't have made it otherwise. Another thing that Seraphi was unaware of. How close to death she had been before Andrew had found her. It had seemed that Seraphi was doomed with bad luck from her birth, with her mother dying, her father disliking her. An unfortunate accident caused her to retain her childish ways, though she was in no way stupid. She just learned slowly, things took time to stick, she had a different way of seeing the world. And it made her so innocently sweet. She couldn't hate one single thing upon this world, not even if she tried. Because Aphy saw the good in things, even with all the bad mucking the view up.

Just as he had predicted, his words had spooked the girl and she scrambled to stay in the tree. A deep laughter came from down deep inside Tripp’s chest. The sight of the look of terror on her face amused him greatly. He took another pull on the end of his almost gone cigarette and blew the smoke her direction. The smoke settled around them for a moment before dissipating, it seemed as if there wasn’t a breeze tonight. He watched her as she scrambled to get back onto the branch, a wicked grin spreading across his face as she looked in the darkness to find him. He wasn’t hiding, just merely taking a moment to sit and he happened to blend well into the darkness.
She was smiling? He had just about spooked her right out of a tree and the girl was smiling. She was either crazy or had a really good sense of humor. Unconsciously he tilted his head ever so slightly to the right as he watched her. If she was going to jump from the tree to the wall, he’d be impressed. Well, impressed or laughing because he could picture her falling again. She was lucky the first time; he wondered how lucky she could be tonight. She chatted at him, her voice clearly full of energy and spunk. He wasn’t sure if that was something he cared for or not.
Again her chatter continued, something about a man named Andrew. Tripp had to sit there a moment and think about whether or not he knew him. A student? No. A Professor? Probably, not that Tripp paid much attention to who his Professors were, when he even went to class. There it was. He could see that she was thinking about jumping. Silently he shook his head in a little bit of disbelief. She was certainly crazy. One last pull and his cigarette was spent, he exhaled the smoke out his nose and put it out against the bottom of his boot before flicking the remains somewhere back over the wall and into the darkness. Hey, he maybe a trouble maker but why not keep the mess out of the walls of the school?
He ran her name through his mental little black book. She didn’t look familiar and yet it wouldn’t be the first time he had run into a chick he had slept with and didn’t remember what they looked like yet alone their name. No. She didn’t look familiar and she didn’t have a look of hate upon her face when she noticed him. She clearly hadn’t been one of his conquests. He just nodded a little in her direction before standing up on the wall, brushing himself off and grabbing a big limb that hung over his head. “I’m not hiding. I was just sitting here…about to jump down.” The playful look was barely hanging on, his normal serious expression threatening to replace it. “And I like the dark.” He was going to ask her why she was climbing the trees but he wasn’t sure if he really cared enough to know. He was pretty sure if he waited she would most likely tell him anyway, there wasn’t a need for him to ask. It was just the vibe he was getting. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low His laughter did not escape her as she clung to that branch with all she had, and truthfully it puzzled her for a moment. Once she had hauled herself back up again and steadied herself she blinked. Had he been laughing at her? Probably. And then she thought about it. She HAD jumped, and her grin spread across her face before she giggled. "I probably looked funny didn't I?" Her face scrunched up as she envisioned herself jumping from the fright. It didn't phase her in the least that he had been laughing at her, that he probably had waited to scare her, no, it didn't matter. Because it HAD been a bit funny, now that she looked back on it. And promptly forgot her intense fear when she almost went tumbling to the ground. Probably because she was grinning at the fact she made this man laugh, even if it was at her expense. Not like she fell, and even if she had she wouldn't have taken offense. She would have shaken it off and inquired about the man anyways.
The fact that he was mostly silent didn't bother her in the least, in fact she was more intent on trying to figure out a way over to the wall than really having a conversation with him. But in the end she simply ended up sitting down on a random branch, beaming over at him. Her face had wrinkled up as the smoke blew in her direction, but she ignored it for the most part, it bothered her, but she was far to concerned about who he was and why he was hiding, in her opinion, in the dark to care about it. Though she did shake her head a bit, dispelling the smoke from around her. Even with the smoke being blown her way the smile didn't leave her face, she understood some people smoked, some people didn't. And that was that. She cocked her head to the side as he stood up, still beaming at him and giggling at his response to her before her eyes widened a bit. "Jump down?" Seraphi couldn't jump down! Well..physically Seraphi could do it, she was a vampire after all, but mentally she believed she was much too far off the ground and she'd only get hurt.
The thought that her natural instincts might kick in and help didn't pass through her mind. She simply thought she'd fall flat on her face, and that would hurt. "But it's so far down! You can't jump from there!" And then she had a thought, her face scrunched up again, her head tilting to the side as she peered at him. "Or can you? Maybe you can, I bet Andrew could!" She smiled again though, when he said that he liked the dark. She liked the dark too, but she told him that already, no need to repeat herself..right? Right. "It sure looked like you were hiding, I didn't even see you!" Of course there would have been a very good chance that she wouldn't have seen him in the first place, at least when she was first climbing. When Seraphi put her mind to something that one thing seemed to encompass her entire being and until she had accomplished her goal she was focused into that task. Unless of course something decided to distract her. Like a man yelling at her in the dark.
She leaned forward eagerly, still sitting with her legs on either side of the branch, which was easily holding up her light weight. "Do you climb trees too? Or just the wall? I've seen others do it, but I like the trees more, they are more fun" And they were indeed, she could swing from the branches, or jump from one to the other, even go all the way up to the top and tower over everyone! She loved the view, but getting down was something that always spooked her. That and swimming. She shuddered, her thoughts having gone inward and a frown flashed onto her face. She always thought she'd sink right to the bottom, so she hadn't even learned to swim. She blinked, looking back at him, smiling once more. "Did you want to climb with me? All the way to the top?" She pointed upwards, she'd love to have someone with her! It's always so much better when someone else was there. At least that was what Seraphi thought.

He stood there hands gripping the branch above his head, he leaned a little putting some of his weight on the branch. She really was slightly amusing to watch, he couldn't think of the last time he saw anyone climb a tree. He nodded a bit when she was talking about looking silly. Of course she looked ridiculous, she was climbing a tree for no apparent reason and she was wearing those retardedly trendy fuzzy boots. It hadn't taken her long to abandon her search for a way to get to the wall. Why didn't she just jump? Hs natural smirk again graced his face as he thought about it.
"Yes jump down." He laughed a little at her disbelief. "Why the hell not?" The walls were tall but he could make the jump no problem, even as a fledgling he was rather resilient. Again with the Andrew talk. What was the deal? He wasn't at all used to chicks that mentioned other guys more then once while talking to him. His smirk took on a more malicious look and he pulled on the branch he was holding on."If I was hiding..." [/i] He tugged a little harder shaking some near branches of the tree. "You would not have seen me."[/i] One more shake and he let go, eyes locked on her. "No. I do not climb trees."[/i] He tucked his hands in his pockets and stood there looking at her. Was she serious? He shook his head a little, chewing a little on his lip ring before responding. Brows furrowed just a little as she leaned forward. "And what the hell are you gonna do when you get up there?"[/i] Really, what did she intend to do? Crazy little ball of energy she was turning out to be. A deep breath pulled into his lungs as he contemplated her. The night air was cooling and refreshing. She oddly reminded him of his little sister, she loved running about, climbing trees and being crazy...when It was allowed. There wasn't any room for anything childish once their father started drinking. It was not easy for the five year old little girl to sit still and behave. Tripp had been there to keep the brunt of the anger directed at him. But that was a long time ago...and yet he still had no urges to climb a tree just for the fuck of it. "Your little ass is gonna get stuck up there."[/i] He grinned picturing her clinging to a branch at the top, stuck like a frighten cat. He could have tried to persuade her to come down before she got up to high, yet he didn't care enough to do so. [/blockquote] Sorry so short, iPad posting blows!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low Perhaps it was his intention to scare Seraphi when he yanked on the branch above his head, or to throw her off so she'd fall, but whatever the reason she merely grinned more, giggling as she leaned forward, her hands grasping the limb under her. And of course, when he said if he had been hiding she immediately thought of hide and seek, and her face lit up and she shook her head. "Nuh uh! I'm the best at hide and seek! I'd find you!" Of course she failed to remember she hadn't seen him on her trip up the tree, but at that point she hadn't been looking for anyone. And it was when she was staring at him, and he at her, that she first noticed it, she'd been a bit distracted before, and he had such dark bonds to begin with, but there it was, and she couldn't help but blink, her head cocking to the side before a soft smile crossed her face. "I have one like that you know! Because Andrew is my family, so mine's bright and shiny too" She reached up, pointing at him, if she could she'd have pressed her hand to his chest, to show him.
Even though Seraphi didn't know he couldn't possibly understand what she was talking about she still smiled at him. "Those are the best, because they are bright and shiny and big." And indeed they were, his bond, that familial bond that linked him to whatever family he had was brilliant, solid, and a vivid gold. It symbolized the love he had for that person, whomever it was, whether it was his father, his mother, his sister, his brother. It saddened Seraphi just a bit that it was so hidden, that there were bonds that were much darker, more severe than the gold bond, but it was okay. Because she had found it. Though of course when he said he didn't climb her face fell just a bit, she could perhaps be considered to be pouting. "Oh. Well that isn't fun! Not at all" And with that she clambered to her feet, easing her way back to the trunk of her tree. When he asked her what she was going to do when she got up there she paused, turning her head to look at him and smiling. "I'm going to see silly" Once again, if you knew Seraphi you'd have a better chance at decoding what exactly she meant.
What Seraphi was going to see where the bonds, they let off a glow that was very visible to her, and it was terribly beautiful when she was at the top of something tall and she could see them. Because she could see them in their entirety, see where the bonds led, who they connected too. It was a beautiful map work of different colors, different lines that were all sizes, thin, or thick, some let off a pulse, some dulled before her eyes, some grew. This was the reason she climbed. It amazed her, those bonds, and being able to be high up enough to see most of the grounds spread out below her was incentive enough to not care if she couldn't get down. So she started making her way up, even with the fluffy boots she was sure footed, she scaled the tree almost expertly, completely at ease as she moved up. But once he spoke to her again she paused, looking down at him. No silly, Andrew'll come." At some point Andrew would go out to the grounds, look to the trees for her.
She let out another giggle, swinging herself onto a limb, careful not to rest on one that was too small to hold onto her. "Why don't you come up here! It's so pretty!" She had reached high up, and her face had softened as she saw all the bonds, even as she saw the bad ones. "You should, it's nice up here, please?" She smiled at him, but of course she couldn't keep her attention on him for long, not when she could see the bonds before her. So after a moment she turned from him, climbing a few branches higher and leaning dangerously forward, one hand wrapped tightly on the bark, her mouth in an 'o' and her eyes wide as she watched. And sometimes, sometimes without really realizing it, she meddled within the affairs of those below. Bringing a few bonds together, ones that belonged. But she didn't know this, she thought she was only watching, just watching. That's what she loved to do after all.

Tripp wasn’t the type to go chasing after girls, no matter how cute or attractive they might be. No, he was the one that was chased, always. So why was he feeling compelled to climb a fucking tree? He didn’t climb trees. Ever. He stood there with his hands shoved in his pockets, eyes watching her as she chatted away. He made a face, what on this bloody earth was she talking about? She had one what? She was pointing at him and talking about that fucking Andrew again. He shook his head and little at her just watching her with brows furrowed in a bit of confusion and frustration at her nonsense. “I don’t know that the hell you are talking about.” And really why did he care? Why did he stand here and listen to her? He did not yet know.
Tripp looked around him for a second his eyes trying to capture what she was talking about. She said family and it stuck a little twinge of pain deep within him. No, she didn’t know him and she didn’t know his family. She didn’t know about Lilly, so she must be talking about something else. Yes denial seemed like the way to go. She was pouting because he refused to climb. “I’m not always a bucket of fun.” He looked up at her in the tree and wondered what she was all about. A deep breath filled his lungs as she backed up against the trunk of the tree and it came out with a hint of his frustration.
His fingers felt the recently acquired cash in his pocket as he looked up at her. He should just leave and hit the club, spend some cash on a dance or two, instead of standing here looking up into a tree after a crazy chick. His fingers tapped the cash and he really had to think about his choices. Who was this Andrew she kept talking about? He clearly must have more patience then Tripp did to have to get this girl out of trees all the time. She still climbed higher. “Who the hell is Andrew and what are you looking at?” his inner voice reminded him that he really shouldn’t care. He wasn’t this girls keeper, he should just leave and yet he felt as if his feet were glued to the wall preventing him from moving up or down.
She still asked him to come up to her and he shook his head taking a step or two closer. He didn’t know why, he just felt the need to know what her deal was. Maybe he’d just stand here and wait for her to come down or until he got bored. It didn’t matter which came first. He took another step towards the tree, his hands produced another cigarette. He placed it to rest in between his lips as he searched his pockets for his lighter. Once he found it he lit the cigarette and looked up at Aphy, taking a deep drag. She had to be crazy. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low She paused for a moment as he told her that he had no idea what she was talking about. She forgot constantly that others could not see what she could, which usually was why she rambled on about the bonds in such ways. A smile spread across her face as she giggled again. "Oh! You can't see, sometimes I forget" Her eyebrows furrowed as she leaned forward, she always did seem to always have a hard time describing the bonds to people. "I see them...the links, you have lots of dark ones, I don't really like those" She didn't mean his especially, but the bonds themselves, she didn't like the hatred or dislike that people held for each other and it was only because she COULD see the good bonds, the love, the friendship, the crushes, that she easily looked over the bad. "You have a good one! One like I have with Andrew, because he is my family." She cocked her head to the side, because she did notice that it was only one familial bond, which wasn't all that common. "You only have one! Like me, do you have just an Andrew too?" It was the best way of her asking about his family. Comparing his own to hers, as she just couldn't seem to find another way to say it.
Her description was brief and before he could reply to that she had skittered up the tree, grinning down at him when he said he wasn't always a bucket of fun. "Well why not? I always have fun!" And she did! Most everything that Seraphi did was fun to her, she hardly did anything she didn't find fun. A few occasions could be named where she had been asked to do something that wasn't fun, but she always went through with it. Mostly because it was Andrew who was doing the asking. Anyways, the point was that Seraphi hardly ever considered herself not fun. And the concept that someone would intentionally not try to have fun all the time was just a bit much for her. How could someone WANT to be bored, or WANT to not have fun? Be sad and mopey? Because Seraphi couldn't sit still herself she couldn't understand the benefits of simply sitting down, watching the view, and enjoying the day. She was constantly on the move, as shown as she scampered up the tree, laughing at the prospect that someone could be no fun. She hardly paid attention to where she placed a foot, or a hand, and she easily, without thought, displayed the vampiric strength and speed she had been bestowed. Seraphi might believe she couldn't do things, that she wasn't fast or strong enough, but when she started to just do things, she tended to use her true strength.
Which made the thought that she couldn't get down by herself just about the funniest thought. But she couldn't, whenever she'd start down she'd start to concentrate, start to become very aware of what she was doing. And frankly she started to let her fear of not being strong enough, or being able to safely get down, get in her way. Regardless, Andrew always helped her down, with gentle coaxing and a helping hand. She had reached the top, her eyes scanning over the brilliant bonds, the very very pretty bonds, that where spread out for her below. She had leaned precariously forward, one hand firmly wrapped around a limb to make sure she didn't tumble to the ground far below. His question made her blink, who was Andrew? Hadn't she said? Perhaps she hadn't, she probably hadn't actually. She leaned back, looking down at him, her face breaking into a huge smile. "He's my family silly! He takes care of me. He found me" Her eyebrows drew together again, a bit of confusion, maybe..hurt?, spread across her face. "When my daddy left. I think my daddy might have gotten lost, cause he never came back" Seraphi couldn't believe that her father would have intentionally left her on her own. She just wasn't capable of thinking that about one person.
But at his second question her smile came back, and she looked back over at the bonds. "The pretty links silly!" Bonds. Links. They were the same to her really. And then he shook his head at her, refused to come up and see with her even if he really couldn't. Her face fell into a frown, a pout, and she did the only thing she really did whenever she wanted to display her displeasure. She lifted her foot up, her hand leaving the limb and slipping her boot off her foot in an act of balance that, had she been thinking of anything OTHER than getting his attention she'd have toppled over. Even though he was staring directly at her, having just lit a cigarette she still didn't like that he wasn't going to come up. Seraphi might have displayed a bit of selfish desires at this point, wanting him to climb up with her, but really no one had refused Seraphi when she'd asked them to do things with her. Perhaps it was the fact that she simply was hardly told no that got her to react this way. Anyways, the shift from boot on foot to boot in hand was swift and before she could blink she had hurled it at him. Fry throwing had, in a way, perfected her aim and after she threw it she giggled, grinning at him. "C'mooooon! Don't be a meanie! Come up here with me!" And such was Seraphi, her ways weren't always understandable, but she was persistent, she'd throw her other boot too. She hardly bothered with the cold on her foot, the brilliant pink sock the only thing protecting her foot from the cold bark.

Had had really been previously serious about not setting foot in the tree. Just like he told her, he wasn’t always a bucket of fun. There was no good reason to climb up after her, was there? He stood there contemplating it, pulling another drag into his lungs and exhaling out his nose. She had been talking away about darkness around him and he knew she was right. There was always a lot of darkness around him, it was why he usually was a loner. No one dared to bother him unless they needed a fix. He tightened his grip on his smoke crushing the little menthol bead inside of it, usually he didn’t but he suddenly felt the need for the burning cool feeling the menthol provided.
Was he nervous? Maybe a little. She was talking about family and that made him a bit uneasy. Lilly was the only thing good he had left in this world. She’d be turning ten years old this year. Time sure did fly, it felt as if it were just yesterday that he was singing her a lullaby to drown out their parents fighting in the other room. That girl kept the only sliver of humanity in him alive. Another drag of his cigarette, the cold filling his lungs and settling his nerves. He missed her, more than usual lately. His thoughts moved to the box of her letters he kept on the top shelf of his closet. He never knew when he’d get one because they were always sent when she could find a safe way to do it without giving away her location. He made a face at the thought. He never got to write back to her because he never knew where to send them. He kicked a rock off the edge of the wall sending it to skip across the lawn of the academy.
Aphy had been talking at him, about her family and what not but Tripp’s mind was somewhere else. He was pulled back to reality as a boot came flying at him, his instincts and quick reflexes came rushing back to him and he quickly snagged the fuzzy boot out of the air without even losing his balance. “Hey…”
[/i] He looked up at her. “I’m not being a meanie.”[/i] All seriousness upon his features. “Believe me you’d know it if I were.”[/i] The boot dangled from his fingertips. She seriously threw a boot at him? Slowly he shook his head, she sure was different. The idea of tossing the boot as far as it’d go crossed his mind. See how happy she’d be with only one boot to keep her little feet warm. He took the soft upper part of the boot and tucked it into his back pocket of his jeans. He should have thrown it and normally he would, but he had suddenly felt like he should be a little nicer. He left his cigarette to rest between his lips. His eyes narrowed. Fuck it. He needed to know. With a quick few steps forward on the wall he jumped into the tree landing safely on a thick branch near the trunk. “You are impossible.”[/i] He looked up at her, but he had a feeling that she might already know that. Limb by limb he skillfully scaled the tree until he was in about an arm’s length away from her. Tripp settled onto a thick enough branch and leaned against the trunk of the tree. “You shouldn’t throw things.”[/i] He pulled her boot out and dangled it in front of her, but not close enough for her to reach. “Come here and I’ll give it back.”[/i] A little smile appearing on his lips. He wondered if she’d listen or if she was too busy looking at whatever she was looking at. From where he was he couldn’t see anything different. The city looked like the city. It was the fact that she had talked about family….that was the only thing that struck his curiosity. He needed to know if it concerned Lilly. That was it. [/blockquote] Words: 681 Muse: Ok…he got a little moody when he started thinking of Lilly. That’s his only soft spot. Outfit: ~*~Outfit~*~Notes: Sorry it’s short, he really fought me on the tree idea. LOL

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low The view was breath-taking, at least for her, and it was very clear that she was utterly amazed by what she saw. It was the simple beauty of the bonds that always drew Seraphi in, not what they represented or meant, it was how they moved, how they looked. Seraphi could have been enthralled with them no matter what they meant, even the dark one's held a wonderment for her, the slick, enticing look of them drew her in sometimes, the pure dark color ignored for how the bonds looked. Like a snake, thin and winding, these dark bonds wrapped around others, tightly and mercilessly. But she wasn't paying attention to those today, no she was watching the brilliantly gold ones, the blue ones, the ones that brougth her true joy and made her so extremely happy. It was a simple happiness, she was content with merely watching, and while she didn't know she was interfering, if she knew she could she probably would have refrained from it. She was there to watch, to see, not to mess with. She wouldnt' dare mess with them, not if she knew she could.
She blinked as he drew her attention, cocking her head at him as he explained that he wasn't being a meanie, but if he were, she'd know it. This caused her to pause, her eyebrows drawing together as she considered him for a moment. So he wasn't being a meanie now, but he could be one? That was what she decided upon and she shook her head. "Well, you shouldn't be a meanie at all, that's how you get the dark bonds silly!" And with that little piece of 'advice' she turned back to her bonds, her foot getting cold so she plopped down on the limb, pushing her hair back out of her face and smiling once more. The boot was immediately forgotten, had he thrown it she would have simply thought of getting it later, and then probably forgetting and going home with one boot. Explaining that to Andrew would have been interesting, she lost it throwing it at a man who wouldn't climb a tree with her. That is, if she ever did get down out of the tree. She wouldn't think to ask for the man's help, not until she was ready to come down, and who knew where he would be by that time.
She blinked, glancing down at him once more before considering what he said. Impossible. She knew she was different, that others didn't really act the way that she did. She didn't know WHY, just that she was different. Whenever she'd think of WHY she was impossible, WHY she was different, she always drew a blank. Aphy was not a deep thinker, there were many concepts that escaped her grasp, she had a hard time focusing and looking at herself in an objective way. She didn't regard herself as stupid though she knew she'd never be as smart as Andrew or really any of the others at the school. She couldn't remember WHY she was like this, she remembered a car, and about her head hurting a lot, but other than that she just didn't know why she was like this. And for a long moment it made her somber, her mouth in a thin line as she pondered this strange predicament she called her life. But there wasn't much to ponder, she was like this, and she didn't care. That was always the conclusion she came too.
She blinked, broken from her train of thought at his words and she looked down, only to see him right there. She was surprised, had hardly seen or heard him start to climb up and her face instantly lit up in a grin as she scrambled to her feet, leaning towards him, one hand firmly wrapping around a branch so she didn't plunge to the ground. "You came up! I'm so glad you did! I love it up here!" Of course he couldn't appreciate what she loved about it as he couldn't see what she was talking about. Didn't phase her in the least though as she cocked her head to the side, her other hand reaching for her boot, blinking when she couldn't reach it. "I know! I get told that a lot, but it's funny" She giggled, it had been funny to throw her boot at him, it'd have been funnier if it'd hit him, mostly because she pictured hitting Andrew in the forehead with a fry, which was not the same as hitting someone with a boot. But Seraphi didn't think like that. She just liked when Andrew's face scrunched up after she hit him, it always made her giggle.
She blinked once more as she realized she couldn't reach her boot. "I can't reach it!" She frowned a bit when he told her to come get it, her teeth capturing her bottom lip as she pondered the space between him and her. Getting up was easy, she didn't have to look down, didn't have to be aware of how far from the ground she was, only what was up above her. And now, now that she could see the ground the first slivers of worry began to eat away at her. I..I can't go down." And she immediately withdrew, leaning back onto her branch, firmly pressing herself to the tree trunk, she couldn't go down, even though he was just an arms length from her, she felt as if she moved from the trunk of the tree she'd fall all the way down. She hadn't minded before, when she was just looking down at him, because the prospect of going down had never crossed her mind. But now, now it was different, now she could fall. And if she did, what if he didn't catch her? And where was Andrew! Her eyes widened a bit as she frantically looked for him. He'd know what to do! He'd help her! Where was he!

From his safe spot against the tree he watched her. Dark bonds? his eyes narrowed a little. so what if he wasn't mr perfect...he was who he was and that wasn't about to change. So he had a lot of whatever dark things she was talking about. It was no surprise to him. What he was surprised about was when she spoke of other things like his family. He only had his sister left and he never saw her, so how did this girl know about her? He was struggling to understand and it was a little frustrating.
He watched her smile down at him, clearly very happy that he was in the damn tree. He was still holding her boot out for her to grab knowing she couldn't reach it. "I know...come here and get it." [/i] he repeated. He wanted her to moved down a branch or two, that wasn't so hard. But he could see the look of slight panic on her face. She seemed so confident when she climbed up. How could she be afraid of highest when he climbed trees all the time? The boot still dangling out of her reach he tilted his head a little, his free hand taking the cigarette out of his mouth. "Come on, don't tell me you are scared to climb down two branches." She had pressed herself against the trunk of the tree and he frowned. Seriously. He shook his head and tucked the boot back in his pocket. Tripp wasn't afraid of hights not really, he was more concerned with the tree being able to hold his weight. He took one last pull on his cigarette. Ahhh...there was that wonderful feeling. The cigarette was put out against the trunk of the tree before he flicked the remainder away. He was going to have to talk this girl down, he knew it and a sigh passed over his lips. "Come'ere"[/i] he held his hands out to her. "I don't want to go any higher, you are practically above me...just slide down here."[/i] His words were uncommonly soft and reassuring for him. "I'll be here...to help." [/i] It was like talking a small child down, he could almost feel the panic crackling off of her. No wonder she needed this Andrew guy to come and get her all of the time. Honestly he was going to have to show her how to get onto the roof of the school, it was much easier to get down from. There were possibly a few other tall buildings he could think of that would work too. He blinked trying to concentrate on the present. He slowly pushed upward standing slowly and putting himself closer to her. "I won't let you fall..."[/i] He reached for her waiting for her to grab his hands. "I promise." [/i] Maybe it was because he had his sister on his brain or that she kinda of reminded him of Lilly, but Tripp was suddenly being way more gentle than he ever was. Ever. It wasn't normal for him but he wasn't giving it a second thought. His hands stayed out stretched waiting for her. If she could gather the courage to reach for him, he'd pull her down to him in a quick motion, pulling her into him and wrapping a reassuring arm around her. But to do all of this he needed her to trust him and to each out and grab his hands. [/blockquote] Words: 578 Muse: weirdly nice Notes: not bad for playing D&D and posting in the iPad

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low She shook her head, her arms firmly wrapped around the tree trunk. No, she couldn't, if she tried to get her boot she'd topple over and fall. And she didn't want to fall. So she couldn't go down, because if she tried to she'd slip, she'd fall, all the way to the ground. "No no, I don't think I can" She watched him, her eyes wide, because now it wasn't so fun, now she couldn't just look at the pretty bonds and be okay. The stark realization that she could fall from all the way up here was like dumping a bucket of cold water on her and, like most emotions, the fear ran wild within her. It happened every time, every single time she climbed up she always had this fear. But Andrew was always there, always there to help sooth it, to help her down. And now he wasn't. The panic welled in her chest and she clung to the trunk tighter, unable to think of anything but the fact that Andrew was not there. How would she possibly get down now?
Her eyes snapped to Tripp as he held his hands up to her, as he told her, encouraged her to go to him, to grab onto him, that he wouldn't let her go. She watched him for a moment with wide eyes, before they darted down to the growing bond between them, it was blue, like most starting bonds, yet she just knew that she could trust him. She didn't know though, she didn't know if she'd be able to grab his hands, her eyes darted to the ground again and she shuffled closer to the trunk. It was too far, even with him right there, it was too far. She swallowed thickly, panicky, her gaze stuck to the ground below. She would have stayed there, just like that, but his last words caught her attention. I won't let you fall....I promise. She looked back at him, at his out stretched hands, she could feel her heart beating wildly in her chest before she shuffled forward just a bit. "You promise?" Her voice was quiet, she just needed the reassurance, just once more, before she reached for him, her hands grasping his, letting out a bit of a yelp as she was pulled to him.
And the instant she could her fingers curled around his jacket, pulling herself closer to him, her face pressing against his chest. Her eyes were squeezed shut as she was sure she'd have fallen straight to the ground. For the longest moment she stayed still, just clinging to him before she peeked up through messy hair, her eyes wide. "You caught me" But of course he did, he had promised not to let her fall hadn't he? She smiled at him then, though her fingers did not uncurl from his jacket nor did she have any intention of stepping away from him. Seraphi didn't mind the close contact, personal space wasn't something that was on her mind, and to be honest there was still some fear about falling to the ground, but if she clung to him she wouldn't fall, if she held onto him she'd be safe. "I didn't want to fall" Her voice was still quiet, as if speaking in loud tones would inevitably cause them to fall from the tree, her gaze peeking down to the ground, and immediately she found it was a bad idea as she snuggled closer to him.
Perhaps he wouldn't appreciate her clinging to him so, but Seraphi knew him as a safety line now, he was something that reassured her. And she needed reassurance right now, so she was going to keep her fingers curled into his jacket, not minding the arm that was wrapped around her waist. Seraphi was not an incredibly needy being, not in the sense that she constantly needed to be around someone for her emotional sake, but more because she got herself into situations like this. She was scared, which was an emotion that came and went frequently with her. She needed someone to be there, simply so she didn't feel alone. That's all she needed, and even though she didn't express it out right, she was incredibly happy and relieved that Tripp was there for her, regardless of the fact she had no idea who he even was.

He really didn't know if he convince her or not to come to him, but silently he hoped that he could. There was something about the panic in her eyes. Normally he enjoyed the look of panic on others faces, especially when it was at his hands, but at this moment it was different. He wanted to ease that panic, he needed to ease it. So he talked to her, really talked from the most sincere part of him he could find and left his arms out stretched to her. He watched the hesitation in her eyes as she kept looking down.
As soon as he had a good grip on her hands he pulled her down towards him, pulling her in and wrapping one arm around her. He could feel her cling to him, her hands gripping his jacket. The sound of his own heart pounded in his ears, he hadn't realized he had been holding his breath until his chest ached and he exhaled. "It's ok..." [/i] She was so still and he rubbed her back with his free hand. "I've got you." his voice almost cracked and he cleared his throat. They were fine, both of them were just fine. Then she looked up at him and he smiled down at her a little. "Of course I did...I told you I would."[/i] his voice still seemed soft but a little of his confidence was starting to come back. "None of us ever do."[/i] Without thinking he brushed her hair away from her face as he looked down at her. Why did she keep looking down? She did it again and it caused her to cling closer to him. Normally he only liked close contact on his own terms, but this was something different. She was different. He wondered if they should climb down or if it were better to sit there for a moment. He closed his eyes and rested his head against the tree. It was silent except for the sound of their breathing. So many things ran through his mind, but one was much more important then the others. Tripp cleared his throat before speaking. "Tell me.[/i] He loosened his grip on her a little. "Tell me about what you see up here..."[/i] Maybe it was his need to know what she knew about his family or maybe he was just curious, either reason he wanted to know. He hoped she would explain it to him, it wasn't often that Tripp was willing to sit and let some teach him something. There was enough of that in school. He looked down at her, his gaze searching her face. It was weird to him to have someone so close to him in such an innocent manor. The last time he'd had such contract he was hugging his little sister good bye. It was the last time he saw her. A twinge of sadness pulled at the bottom of his stomach and he slumped a little as he held her. He again cleared his throat and tried to push those feels down, down deep and away. "Or we could climb down..."[/i] [/blockquote] Words: 523 Muse: omg Notes: Sorry quick posts are always shorter

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] my hearts a radio, turn me up when you feel low She was safe. Perfectly and utterly safe with her fingers curled on his jacket and his arm around her. It was not hard for her to start to relax against him, his gentle words and him rubbing her back calming her down from her panic. She couldn't help but smile at him as he smiled at her, and when he brushed her hair out of her face she blinked, the gesture was...odd to her. Nice, but odd. She relaxed just a bit more, her head tilting downwards, her eyes going to the ground, mostly because the gesture of brushing her hair out of her face was something she wasn't quite familiar with. And immediately stiffened as the fear of falling rushed back to her. Her fingers tightened on his jacket again before she ended up wrapping her arms around him, hugging him close and pressing her face into his jacket. It turned quiet, and she wasn't sure if she liked it or not, because all she could think of was falling, of unintentionally letting go of him and falling from the tree.
He cleared his throat and her head shot up to look at him, her eyes wide before a grin spread across her face, though she didn't lessen her grip. He wanted to know about her bonds! Her fear of falling was immediately forgotten, how could she fear anything when talking about her bonds? "I see the links..." Her face scrunched up as she attempted to explain to him what she was seeing. "They are all over the place, they link you to someone" She smiled up at him, one arm snaking from around him to press against his chest, where his heart is. "You have one, right here, it's pretty, and big, and beautiful, it links to someone, someone you love, your family" Seraphi didn't understand that Tripp might not like talking about this, that his family was his own business. She only knew that he had this bond that she enjoyed, that she wanted to tell him about. "I like coming up here to watch them, because I can see them connect people. And sometimes I see them made, those are really pretty blue ones." It was very easy to tell that she quite enjoyed what she was talking about as all signs of panic simply left.
She didn't mind standing there with him, explaining what she saw to him, why she climbed the trees every time without thought of consequences. "I love them, I like seeing them form, especially the love ones, those one's are really pretty" She didn't mean the little crushes, or the puppy dog love, she meant the pure love, the true love, the golden bonds that extended from one soul mate to another. THOSE bonds where her absolute favorite, THOSE bonds made her oh so very happy. "They shine really bright, even through the dark ones, I always like seeing them" She chatted easily, eager to tell him, happy that he had asked her. The hand that had been pressed to his chest ended up curling into his coat again, apparently she still unconsciously worried about falling out of the tree. Which was ridiculous seeing as she was still clinging to Tripp.
And then he inquired about going down and she blinked, frowning slightly, her gaze going down again. "Um...I..I don't know" Once more her gaze became worried, though she had decided Tripp was safe, so the sheer panic she had felt not a few moments before did not return, just a lot of discomfort at the prospect of going down. But she had Tripp now, so she'd be okay..right? Right.
